Wouldn't you want free health-care like we do?

If you think about it, we have more of a democracy than americans because they apparently have laws against marijuana (even tho i don't personally use it), gay marriage (still banned in most states), prostitution (legal in canada) etc..

even though we have big government intervention, it hasn't made us any worse than what you guys might think. did i mention free health-care once again?

thanks to having a socialist government, they even allow legal downloading (even though that may come to an end soon)...

even our education system is more balanced than yours.

60-64 = C+

65-69 = B-

70-74 = B

75-79 = B+

80-84 = A-

85-89 = A

90+ = A+

so how can you not love Canada's governing system after all of that?

Canada is great (swoons)

because some people don't like paying taxes for services that we might not get the full value of. We trust ourselves to spend our own money more efficiently and intelligently than the government we live under.

The passing grade in Quebec is 60% (until University).

We may be a welfare state in the sense that we have universal health coverage, unemployment insurance, pensions, etc, but I don't consider that the Government "intervenes" in my daily life much.

The Canadian governments, at each level (federal, provincial and municipal), must strive to become more and more efficient, while still providing us with the services we have come to expect.

Things like your education rant vary by region anything below 60% is a fail where I live. (west coast canada)

I guess people in America only want big government when it comes to batshit crazy foreign policy and wiretapping and throwing habeas corpus out the window and lying to kids about sex and birth control, but they want small government when it comes time to go to the hospital and get billed to death.

So it is okay to be stupid in Canada?

Well I prefer to actually earn things like health insurance and money and not have it handed to me. Government should help educate people, protect them from foreign influence, and provide industry regualtions to ensure public safety, thats all.

As far as I know, in private high schools, you better do your homework or you're not even going to finish the year (not for being stupid, but because it's very strict and teachers care for you)! =P
