LAIR will flop in Japan. I'm 99% certain of that. If similar games, developed by SquareEnix, on established platforms can't do well - no way that LAIR will.

Not so sure about Uncharted. It strikes me as more of a Western title (Tomb Raider - how did that ever do in Japan?).

Devil May Cry, MGS4 & Rachet & Clank should all do well (PS3). Heavenly Sword might do ok as well.

Lair should do good. By good, I mean 100k+ LTD. Uncharted though, I don't think it'd do very well. Maybe 50-60k over it's lifetime....Far less than what it'll do in US/Europe (where it should do decently as a placeholder for TR8).

Devil May Cry 3 sold .35 million in Japan at a time when there were roughly 20 million PS2 owners in Japan.

Metal Gear Solid 3 sold .86 million at a time when there were around 18 million PS2 owners.

Ratchet and Clank 3 sold .31 million at a time when there were around 18 million PS2 owners.

God of War sold, um, according to this site .02 million in Japan. They aren't even releasing the second one. Heavenly Sword is a God of War ripoff.

There are .97 million people in Japan who own a PS3. I don't know how you define well, but I think the only one that will look even notable sales-wise is MGS4.

How long can sony afford to hemorrhage PS3's sales ?? With Hot Shot Golf PS3 debuting with a cheaper bundle pack, the july first week charts should be interesting.

so what is all this then ??? is Sony going to abandon the homeland ??? what are the possible consequences ??? I didn´t know Japan was not able to get a price drop soon, this is a real bad position for Sony !!! What kind of aces and bunnys does Sony need in it´s hat to get back into its game ??? How long can the gap grow or will it stop at all ??? How many Japanese developers count on having a big base in Japan ??? How long will the big guns need and will there be anymore that weren´t started before things looked so bad ??? And why do Japanesec celebrate Chistmas, was Jesus in Japan and didn´t tell us ??? (He was in America if you belive the mormons) Well looks like I´ve got lots of questions, I´m not saying that everything is lost it just makes me wonder....     

4:1,5:1,6:1...it doesn´t matter,the PS3 is getting its ass kicked in its homeland (and in America,not so much in Europe) and Japanese devs seem to have taken notice by now...if FFXIV comes out this gen,it could very well go to the Wii.
