You should wait for the Tokyo game show of 2008 in September. I understand your post E3 2008's fear, but you are too pessimistic about Wii's future.

Agreed, what the Wii offers is not a proper gaming experience like the HD consoles do. If Nintendo and the Wii do win this generation, we may see all systems in the future being less powerful, thus allowing for little to no innovation in graphics, AI or effects onscreen at a single time. This worries me, because all the casual people now will be given preference over the hardcore market.

However, seeing as though Nintendo is a business and they are out to make money, good luck to them, it is just that with their money making, the consoles I like may become a thing of the past in future generations.

but money is what nintendo wants, casual = more money, so us core market are dead for them.

unless a zelda comes soon and its a piece of art like ocarina of time i could care less about other nintendo games, since third party on ps360 is so good.

The PS2 is the queen of consoles for me... only the X360 is any close.

Core market isn't dead for Nintendo, it just isn't their priority anymore...as much as that sucks, remember that not being priority =/= dead.

Also, gaming as you prefer it will exist for a very long time as their are developers and publishers even who are just as upset as you are.

Hardcore gaming is likely to never die but when the priority is on the casual gaming market support for traditional gaming is going to go down.

Hence my statement "At the end of the day it means less games like God Of War and more games like ... Mario & Sonic at the olympics"

That's not to say that games of God Of War will cease to exist but they'll come round less often than they did because the emphasis has shifted.

"Hardcore" games sell really well a lot of the time, so I dunno what you're worried about. And of course the Wii offers a proper gaming experience.
