Here's anothother Xbox 360 exclusive:

I give that post a 10.

I've read some interesting things in this thread and it will be interesting to see who is right. What I found most interesting was the true statement that the PS3 only had Uncharted and Ratchet last year and it still beat 360's holiday season WW...

LPB WILL PUSH CONSOLES!!!

Does. Not. Compute

Its LittleBigPlanet....not LittlePlanetBig

A PS3 fan such as myself should be lined up and shot for making such mistakes lol.

LBP Will Push Consoles!

Quality, not quantitiy of games. The 360 has a lot of crap coming out, whereas the PS3 has an abundance of high quality titles.

Oh this will be a sad christmas for XBox fans. The PS3 sold more christmas 2007 than the 360.

with Uncharted and Ratchet against Bioshock, Mass Effects and Halo3. If they couldn't win this they do not have the slightest chance this year.

i was just going to say that^. the exclusive lists of his is full of dribble only a few noteworthy games in the 360 list.

it will be a close call this fall, but i feel ps3 will have the edge.

lowering your price to compete with an already more expensive product isnt a good sign.

still there are people who cling to the jibbersih that ps3 is doomed lol`s

This is nonsense and you know it.  Tech products always come down in price, without exception.  You reduce the cost through improved manufacturing techniques, and drop the cost to spur more sales.  A price drop for the 360 is due considering they've been on the market for almost 3 years, and have only had one miniscule price drop in their best-selling region.

We have no idea how the consumer or Sony is going to respond to the price cut , in any case the PS3 is still outselling the 360 in europe with a higher price point.

I still think Sony exclusives are of superior quality in comparison to 360 exclusives ( the whole concept of quality vs quantity) regardless of software support the PS3 has been selling faster than the 360 since launch so it's unlikely to seriously affect the 360 , i can't even see alot of big names amongst the 360 line up.

Worst case scenario Sony drop price. I see about 7 PS3 potential/actual million sellers vs 4-5 potential/actual million sellers for the 360.

I disagree. Sony's exclusive are not of better quality. Resistance and Little Big Planet are about the same level of quality as GoW2 and Banjo 3. The xbox360 will see a lot of quality RPG that used to be on PS2.

Quality of games are opinion. And we all know you despise MS.

12 months to 18 months  timewe will have a better picture. Let's wait to see what  2009 and 2010 have to offer before we draw to any conclusions.

Why not wait until the end of the NEXT generation while we are at it?

A typical generation lasts 5-6 years, 2-3 years should be plenty enough to gauge it and this gen will be two years old (3 for 360) this xmas, so 2009 should be the most one should be asked to wait (and that is stretching it) as by 2010 the generation will be as clear to everyone as last gen was in 2004-2005.

You are correct. MS and Sony both "lost" this generation before it even started.

The console war according to X360 and PS3 sales executives is between Sony and MS. they do not count the Wii as a current generation console they say well it uses last gen technology it is not competing with us.

Many PS3 and X360 fan boys use the same excuses and say the Wii is not competing  in the  HD console war.

No matter how anyone looks at it, $250 for a Wii means $250 less for either a PS3 and/or a 360.  For those who are hard pressed to choose amongst the three, this is an issue for SONY, Microsoft, and all their grovelling little trolls.

Hahahahaha

This is the same thing Nintendo fans said during the Gamecube and N64 eras. Literally the exact same thing, except it was the PS1/2 that had the overabundance of crap titles.

Sony must not allow themselves to be taunted by Microsoft. To allow Microsoft to control the agenda, because if that happens and Sony falls into lock step. The result will be the obliteration of their gaming division. Microsoft has an ulterior motive. Yes they want to outsell Sony, but more then that they want to force Sony to spend countless billions fighting them tooth and nail. Microsoft will come out better not just for having more money. They have a better economic strategy this generation. Microsoft can make the war brutal without being unprofitable. Anything that Sony will do now has to be unprofitable. To put it as simply as possible the more money Sony is forced to spend the less likely there will be a PS4.

Sony makes consoles to make money, I know difficult concept to grasp. However if all Sony does is lose billions on console gaming eventually they will leave the market. Microsoft is not going anywhere and neither is Nintendo, so if Sony wants to compete they have to show an ability to be cost effective. That means they have to find a way to make money. I have said it before and I will say it again perhaps the best thing Sony could do right now this very moment is start to charge for its online service just like Microsoft. Find themselves a little more liquid cash to help them be more aggressive on multiple fronts. Like purchasing exclusives, and perhaps to fund later price cuts.
