Pro choice up until about week 18.

During week 18 Brainwaves can be detected by an EEG.

I've got no answers on what constitutes a life and what doesn't... the detection of Brain Waves seems like the best "compromise" on when life really begins.

If i had to guess when brainwaves start is when i'd say a life offiically starts.

I agree with you on the timeline for when life begins completely.  I really don't understand how people can look at something that has brainwave activity and say "Nope thats not alive."  Of course technically sperm itself is alive so I'm of course referring to the point at which human life begins.

I generally despise any choice the government wants to make for an individual but after brainwaves begin it should be considered murder.  18 weeks is about 46% of the way through the stereotypical 9 month pregnancy which is in my mind plenty of time to discover that you're pregnant and make a decision.

To Each Man, Responsibility
Around the Network

Today's an interesting day. We have an abortion thread and another one about the death sentence :D Now all we need is one about homosexuality to really get people arguing.

Anyway, I'm not too fond of abortion if the fetus is larger and has more developed organs. It's kind of sick hearing about how babies get vacuumed from a woman and comes out in tiny little body parts. That's just sad. Give the lil' bugger a fighting chance and at least put him/her up for adoption. Everyone deserves a change to live despite whether or not the parent chose to responsibly have it or not.

There's also those tough cases in which a woman is raped and gets pregnant against her will. This is quite the tough subject to discuss.

Pro Choice, as in, if the woman doesn't want to have a kid, she can choose to not have sex and if she does, she sleeps with a guy who is willing to take the precautions of using whatever contraceptives are available, as well as choosing to use them herself.

I'm also Pro Medically Essential Choice, as in, if the woman is in actual PHYSICAL danger DIRECTLY from the pregnancy, she can choose to save her own life. This does not include inconvenience or financial or social danger.

I'm also Pro Trauma Recovery Choice, as in, if the woman was actually raped, she can choose not to carry the child of her rapist.

I am not however, Pro "I'd rather kill another human life that's never done anything wrong, than have to take responsibility for my own mistakes, when all I had to do was something as simple as using a basic contraceptive or JUST NOT HAVE SEX"

So basically, I'm Pro Life. All these people talking about "it's the woman's body, she should have the right to choose" Are full of shit. If a pregnant woman is killed, it's considered a double homicide. the pregnant woman never gets asked if she feels that the baby's life should count or not, it's just simply considered double murder. It wouldn't matter who the murderer was, it would still be murder.
The baby is alive, hence it is a life, hence killing it is murder. It doesn't matter who the murderer is, so that includes the woman who is pregnant with it. There's just no logical way you can say that one thing is wrong, but then the exact same thing is okay.

LMAO, this is by far the funniest response I have ever heard. We live in an age where no one accepts individual responsibility for themselves and their actions. This, sir, is in fact hate speech. How dare you suggest that a women be responsible for her actions, thats not liberal.
