Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Pro Evo 2009 on the Wii: Konami did it again.....

I really am starting to question the existance of grey matter within the skulls of Konami execs.

Just recently Konami announced an Autumn launch for their new football game series Pro Evolution 2009 for America
and Europe. What caught my attention was the lack of either a mobile or Wii version of the game in the same time period.

After what seemed an eternity (5 minutes waiting for the news section to come up on Konamis web site) i found a release date for Pro Evo on Wii........slated for  spring 2009.

WHAT THE F*CK!!!!!!!!

How can anyone be so goddamn stupid????? They are shafting Wii owners yet again, making minimal changes, basing from what has been revealed, coming out with the game almost half a year later than the rest, what kind of treatment is this?

Are they blind? They are deliberately losing potential buyers with this move. Sure that the game will sell very well on the HD consoles, but that's not the point. It's like 3rd party devs are on purpose doing this kind of sh*t to later only say that Wii doesn't sell their games. Grumble Grumble....

EDIT:Right, those mobile versions were announced alongside the Wii version, yet the mobile ports will make it in time for an autumn release, while Pro Evo Wii won't.....ARRRRGGGHHHH........

/rant.

Huh. Who would've thought that beggining anew in my real life would coincide with starting anew on vgchartz?

Any day now, the dollar will be worth less than 2 zloty......any day now.....and my life savings will be in total jepordy ;(.

Well they had less than nine months to develop it if they want to release this this fall.

They develope these games since forever. i don't see the problem in them putting more people on the Wii dev team to get that version on track time-wise with the rest of the versions.

I think the main problem is, and I believe sea bass touched upon this on interviews in the past, that the PES development team is too small to be working on so many versions at once. I don't see why Konami can't pump a few more resources into it since it's such a high selling game!

Yes

I don't think they have enough people for that, PES on X360/PS3 is more important for them to finish it this fall I guess.

It's just that, for me, it's laughable that Konami would put mobile versions of the game on a higher priority than Pro Evo Wii. Whatever i guess...

If the team is small then unfortunately the wii version is the odd one out due to its motion controllers. Whilst they can work on everything else as they have similar input methods.

It's Konami's Christmas present to EA!

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

It'll be released alongside FIFA 10 and WOrld Cup games lol.

They can better skip 2009 and release 2010 next year.

Otherwise the same thing will happen again every year again!
