I predict FF XIII will be a bigger disappointment than GTA IV. Some will love it but others will hate it. It is all a matter of opinion regarding games.
FF X-2, FF XI and FF XII were both disappointments in a lot of people's eyes. Some however liked FF XII and it received 92% review acorss across the board.

No, but that's only because I'm expecting nothing from it. If it's complete shit it will just about meet my expectations.

Yep, this forum seems to have alot more fans of FF9 than I see IRL.  Although about every FF fan I've met IRL has hated 9, but loved 8 and 10.

Yeah, the fact that the enemies leveled with you was weird and the junction system was frustrating in 8.  9 definitely had the best character development IMO, especially with the Active Time Event system.  Kuja was a great Villain, IMO.

Where was the thread that said it was supposedly like all other Japanese RPGs and used the same old cliches? I never got to actually look into it (damn cpu) but I think it was just for hits. I hope the game is good, but I really hope it doesn't get a 10. Final Fantasy purists would create an apocalypse on this forum.....................well now that I think about it.............it should get a 10!

Ugh...the your level = enemy level thing was annoying. Enemies in FF8 where insanely tough :( Hardest FF IMO. The junction thing was annoying too but I didn't have THAT much trouble with it.

FF8 was a good, solid game. It also has the best soundtrack in the series ;P FF9 is better though.

I never played any of the PS1 FFs but I know it is generally thought that FFVIII is the worst of the PS1 FFs.

Well Final Fantasy has been doing so good as of late with FFX-2, FFXI and FFXII, its only inevitable that FFXIII will continue the trend.

It's only a pity the special edition will never be released outside of Japan.
