Forums - Sales Discussion - Will RE4:Wii Edition meet sales expectations?

Capcoms position is a good one I think. Well get awesome Wii games, and 360 ones too :).

Sucks for PS3, because Capcom will probably never use most of its unique characteristics. Theyll just port everything from 360 to it.
Only exclusive game for it I think its Monster Hunter 3, likely to bomb in Japan.

Great Game I beat it already but the extras will keep you playing it over and over. BTW the Wii controls are fantastic on this game it's never been so easy to aim.

Is this really a good thing though? I mean I expected the controls to be easier on the Wii because you aim a lot quicker, but doesn't this take some challenge out of the game (which originall was decently challenging)?

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

possibly but taking into account that its a couple years old and most people who have played it before and bought it again know what will happen in the game and are prepared for it and know how to take out enemies much easier and know there weak points.

this is what helped me beat it in a couple of days.....so i cant speak for every owner of RE4

although im hoping that FPS games or any kind of shooter game built ground up for the wii will have greater difficulty

Wii ID: 3598-1817-7961-3393. PM me if you want an add

If it wasnt for MGS4, the PS3 is unnecessary

It's certainly not a bad thing. If the controls make the game easier, it means they are easier to use and thus better. The game is now only limited in its design with respect to its difficulty, and not to its hardware.

It is a good thing. You shouldn't be limited by the controls. That's like trying to play the game with one arm tied behind your back. Just like having a steering wheel for racing games, it makes it easier to drive, but it doesn't take the challenge away. If a game is hard simply because the controls are limited, then the game is of poor design. Besides, it's more intuitive, natural, and realistic to point your gun like a gun rather than moving an analog stick around. The game is just as challenging but with better controls which in turn makes it more fun to play.

Just to be the 4th person to respond to your comment:

I believe it is. The fact that the controls are so responsive gives you an added sense of immersion. It is more intuitive and natural, adding a level enjoyment and realism.

Oh, and what mancandy said.

Because the latest fad is to reply to this comment, I'll add my 2 bits as well.  Yes, I have never had more fun playing RE than I do with the current Wii controls.  It really enhances the immersion.  They are so intuitive, and so accurate.  Personally I love the feel.

Well said, all.

I just think it's funny that one of the core features of a great game is supposed to be "it's hard because game pads suck for aiming!"

I think the PS3/360 should come out with new game pads that are heavier, bulkier, take a lot more batteries, and have stiff, unresponsive analog sticks. "Try our new game pads, now the games will be even harder!"

Here's another angle at this. Just recently, hardcore gamers complained that the Wii remote is too simple and dooms the system to casual "non games." Then, a hardcore Wii game is released that is actually more responsive and better controlled with the Wii remote instead of a traditional game pad, and now the complaint is that hardcore games are too easy to beat on the system. There's no way to win!

Honestly, I've said this before, but I am still amazed that game pads have remained an industry standard for so long. It's attacked from both sides: casual players think the controls are awkward and unintuitive, while hardcore players think they are imprecise and technically inferior for skilled play (there's a reason why 90% of professional gaming takes place on PCs, despite the fact that it represents less than 10% of the market, and it isn't that PC gamers are just "so much better").
