Fact: Most people have awful taste in anime.
Proof: This thread has people who like Eva and Rahxephon.

What wrong with Evangelion?

Everything after the Cruel Angel's Thesis intro song ends through the credits.

Except for a couple of episodes around the time Asuka joins which were awesome and win.  Sadly they were short-lived.

Why did you watch the whole thing then? I doesn't make any sence, Whe Asuka joins, it was probably like episode 8-9, Why watch 15 episodes more if you didn't like it??

I had heard it was the "must-see" anime.  I watched the first 10 episodes or so hoping that it would pick up (and because the intro song is awesome).  It picked up a lot when Asuka came on board.  That lasted for 2-3 episodes before the show flushed her potential down the proverbial toilet.

I figured it was downhill from there, but watched the rest simply to say that I had.  Besides, I feel the same way about anime as I do video games.  If you haven't been through the whole thing, you don't really have a right to criticize the whole thing.

Plus it was free as it was borrowed from the library.  ^_^

So, what exactly didn't you like?

Was it me or did I miss this thread. Anyways I got nothing to do now....

Here are my favorites.

Kara no Kyoukai:Garden of Sinners

(This actually just went into my list and impressed me more than FMA)

I like this anime aswell "BEND" but it hasn't reached my all time faves yet. I'll have to wait til it ends.
The mystic eyes of death perception is one interesting power.

I agree about Rahxephon, but Eva isn't that bad.

It's actually pretty good if you read this epilogue manga.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EBU8RH6J (PG-18)
It made the whole show worth it for me. *Hint Shinji's character develops*
Of course I didn't appreciate the anime because all the (supposedly?) subtle messages just flew right past me when I watched that show.

Reading back... I can't believe the Bleach and Naruto anime used to be in my favorites...
I'm switching with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Kimi ga nozomu eien and Elfen Lied.

So, what exactly didn't you like?

The bags of angst?  The characters I couldn't care about or sympathize with?  The pretentious plot whose religious references felt like an afterthought?  The dismal pacing?  The obvious plot twists?

I don't really know what to pick, there are just too many options to choose from.

I don't think the ending was an obvious plot twist.

Did I say specifically that it was?  ^_^

Anyway, Haruhi is an example of an anime I particularly like.

Ah the Evangelion Bashing has begun.
Words Of Wisdom, when you see it on so many people's list , its a pretty bold statement to say that their taste is bad.
If you couldn't relate to the characters ,thats too bad, but Ikari Shinji is definitely one of the most "realistic" characters to come out of sci-fi anime. and the ending wasnt a plot twist, neither was it very obvious. In fact, the ending was a pretty awesome closing of a great show.

A lot of people put Hanna Montana on their favorite singers list too.  That doesn't mean she's an extremely talented performer or that their taste is good.  Crap is crap IMO, no matter how popular it is.

Shinji is actually pretty unrealistic as I don't see an over-emotional 130lb bag of angst with periodic temper tantrums as realistic.  Maybe you can relate to that but I can't.
