 TIMESPLITTERS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of the first (good) FPS games that was released in the 6th gen was Timesplitters... A game made by Ex-Rare members who left the studio after they broke up with Nintendo. (They were the brains behind Goldeneye on N64).

Timesplitters became a succesful franchise and it's succesors were inevitable (Timesplitters 2: PS2, Xbox and NGC) And (Timesplitters: Future perfect A.K.A Timesplitters 3 for PS2, Xbox and NGC... With online play for PS2 and Xbox). The games were known for their humor and parody on other games... References to other genres etc...

Rumor has been going around for the last couple of months that there is indeed a sequel in the works of the critically acclaimed Timesplitters serie (A.K.A Timesplitters 4)... And I've got some more to get the fuzz going!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A forumposter on the official Playstation forum has been babling about somekind of announcement that is to be made in regards to this title! And this announcement were to be made in the August edition of the Official British Playstation magazine. The logo which comes with the announcement of the title is said to be somekind of Gears of War logo but with a Timesplitters monkey in the middle... {As odd as this may sound is doesn't seem as unlikely as i first thought. Cause Timesplitters revolves all around the humor which also contributes to what i think is a great series}

As said: Playstation magazine means Playstation 3. I'm really sad to say that there haven't been any announcements about the game going Multiplatform (PS3, X360) Or even (PS3, X360 and Wii) it is still highly possible for the game to get multiplatform status! Why?! The game is rumored to be announced in a Playstation magazine... As such they WILL NOT mention any other versions besides the Sony platforms!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just to mention this... (This has nothing to do with the rumor: As some of you might know. Free radical is known for their polls on their main site! This is to let the fans give their opinions on certain decisions that need to be made (Such as: Which platform, what game etc...)...

Well: This was one of their polls:

IFF we were to create another entry in the critically acclaimed Timesplitters tm. Series. On which platform would you want it the most:

X360: 6.7%.

PS3: 2.2%.

Wii: 91.1%.

kool

Hey... Look at me: I can write unbiased non fanboyish posts!!! ^^

THE NETHERLANDS

cool, I hope they make it. I always enjoyed Timesplitters.

Let's hope they listen to polls.

Around the Network

So they're not actually making one? Misleading thread title...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

I would love to see Timesplitters 4; 2 was good, 3 was great. One of the best FPS series and they didn't take the whole "most elite soldier in the world" crap seriously the way other games do.

They did wrap up the story at the end of the last one though.

I could've sworn this was announced already, but when I looked it up I found out I was thinking of Time Crisis 4.

This is very cool... I just realized I never played TS3, damn.... I bet I can find it for 10-20 bucks somewhere, I'll have to check it out when I have time.... Looking forward to a new TS title though, I really enjoyed 1 & 2, the style of graphics is really cool.

Heres the link providing the story. I'd say its probably going to be built from the ground-up on the PS3, then when the time comes, they might consider a port. Sony does seem to have a good relationship with Free-Radical (timed exclusive with Haze, two previous games on the PS2).

We'll have to see what happens.
