360 success ? what the hell are you talking about.

360? success over PS3? yeah they launched early and gained a lot of 3rd party support that was Sony exclusive but their hw sales wasn't a success in PAL and JP compared to PS3

 PS2 Vs. Xbox says "hi".

 So, what, you're saying that the 360 isn't a success, even though they've managed to mantain a lead over the PS3 for a year and a half, now - even after agressive price drops from Sony's behalf! And the 360's huge software sales and attach ratio, aren't those successes, either? Or the popularity and customer satisfaction of Xbox Live?

 There's only been 1 PS3 price drop.  What you're thinking of is the SKU changes.   

There is really no question the 360 is a success at this point especially considering it is on track to pass the original this year, much shorter time, and at a much higher price point differential. With the first full year of profit behind them the real question is what does the future hold for the platform. As for comparisons sake the recent shipment numbers between Sony and MS indicate that they have both shipped almost the same amount since the PS3 has been on the market. So that 1 year head start has been quite worth it to say the least because if you take out shipments for each you are left basically with that one year head start. The rest of this year should be quite interesting as well.

With that said on to the topic at hand there are a number of issues in the works right now that have come into play. 40GBs clearing out of channel (very short stock), some supply of 80GBs here and there (although still some people are just not willing to spend $500 on a console) and you have people waiting for the new 80GBs for the same price. The real question at this point for Sony is when will they get the new 80GBs to retailers. If they wait until Sept/late August like they said they will lose some key ground during this time frame.

if you think the announcement of the 80 gigg has something to do with this it dosent really... it might have a little effect to people who acually research this stuff but the average consumer isnt going to know and there just going to buy whats there
