Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Interested in getting a DS

Hey guys, I'm interested in getting a DS, due to lots of awesome games that it has, and also due to that I need a handheld :).

I don't know anything about it, so I came here to ask you a few questions about the DS.

1. What games do you most recommend? (3rd party preffered) - I like JRPG's, SRPG's, ARPG's, Platformers, Action.

2. How do you save on it?

3. Differences between the first DS and DS lite?

Much appreciated

1: There are many depends on your taste I would recommended: Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, FF3, FF4, Sonic Rush and many GBA games.

2: Each game saves onto the Cartridge.

3: Lite is much nicer model I prefer it over the Fat Ds. And its really hard to find the fat DS anymore...

Former something....

Games -

Released
Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center

Upcoming
Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest IV-VI, Black Sigil, Moon,

1.Final Fantasy IV, Castlevania

2. Each game saves onto the cartridge

3.The Lite is smaller, brighter, and has better battery life than the original. All new cases and styluses made are for the lite too.

The Final Fantasy IV remake should be right up your alley: it's the spiritual predecessor of IX. Assuming you like Dragon Quest VIII, Dragon Quest IV should also suit you. While we're going through the RPGs, The World Ends With You is a pretty unique one that's fairly fun.

For other genres, it depends on your tastes. There aren't too many stealth games, but if you're okay with Metroid-style games there are two fine Castlevanias available, and the third one is supposed to be good as well. I also love Elite Beat Agents, which is a rhythm game with a twist, but check it out before you buy. The DS has one of the best roguelikes ever in Shiren the Wanderer, but if you're not into roguelikes this won't convert you. If you like adventure games, the Ace Attorney series is outstanding, although I didn't like part IV all that much myself.

Give me a few more examples of games you like, and I can recommend more.

Thanks guys, then it's FF IV and Chrono Trigger for sure. I'll edit my first post as to my tastes, because the games I have in my profile are not everything I have :)

Puzzle Quest is quite fun.

zelda: phantom hourglass, the world ends with you, ninja gaiden
