Forums - General Discussion - The Official Beijing Olympics 2008 Thread

I'll watch plenty of Olympic events like I always do every four years. I still love the Olympic Games despite the damned doping and the corrupt IOC.

Yes, but the American networks (ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS) were not carrying it live. CBC was in Canada.

BTW: I feel bad for the Iraqi athletes who were Banned from the Olympics.

They will have 4 Iraqis there.  The others couldn't be worked in the arrangement w/ the Olympic Comittee.

How do you not get NBC?!?  Even people with basic cable get NBC.  Its like a mandatory channel.

Yea its been previously taped due to the time zones.  First chance for Americans to get to watch it in prime time.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

The Iraq Olympic coordinator was kidnapped by insurgents and the deadline passed for admission back into the games before the archers and weightlifters could be reinstated.

PS: They got a good applause at the opening ceremony w/ a good clap by First Lady and President Bush.  Iran got silence, btw.

SO nobody likes watching the olympics?
