Steam rocks. Our new "in-house" PC original IP hits alpha today, and it will be released on Steam as our primary (initial) platform.

If it does well, I'm hoping that Steam becomes (and stays) our #1 platform for good. Its just so easy to use - no headaches, excessive costs or excessive submission requirements.

What is your game?

And yes, I love Steam.  Steam is my primary source of games now.  I love PC gaming because it's actually more affordable than console gamers think, and it's so convenient for me.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

We haven't announced the title (or the game) officially yet - but will do so, when its ready. Hoping 8-10 weeks till Beta at this stage.

The game is "sort of" a "casual" game - but one that should appeal a lot more to old-school (or hardcore) gamers than say... Peggle does (which I find intensely boring, but thats me). It has a strong exploration/adventure element to it, as well as a casual nature.

Enjoy sir, I think you will find it to be one of the best gaming purchases you will ever make in terms of $ for fun.

To Each Man, Responsibility

I just found a new signature

Games I am looking forward to:

PC: Diablo III, Fallout III, Stacraft 2, Spore, Empire: Total War, American McGee's Grimm

360: Madden 09, Fable 2, Left 4 Dead, Blood Bowl

“Go ask [Blizzard president] Rob Pardo if PC gaming is dead – if he can take the time out from making money hats, I’m sure he’ll give you a really eloquent explanation of why probably the most valuable entertainment franchise of the moment is PC-specific.” - Gabe Newell

That was a good read. And I know that PC gaming isn't dead but I also believe that Valve and Steam isn't the only solution to the PC gaming piracy problem or anything. Other companies are doing just fine such as Blizzard and Id.

PC Gamer

2007 PC Games Revenue: $11.3 Billions

2007 Console Games Revenue: $14 Billions

DFC's estimated growth of PC gaming in the next 5 years: 73%

Yeah, PC being decentralized is really keeping it from the entire console industry revenue levels...

Excellent article. It's really about time Microsoft went into bat for the PC, rather than leaving it to Valve's and Blizzard's.

Shio- do you have a link to any articles quoting those figures? The last time I saw anything like that was PC Gamer a few years back, where the PC had approximately a 35% revenue share. Looks like the success of WoW has pulled it up quite significantly.

God I love Valve. I need more peggle extremeness :D
