Forums - Microsoft Discussion - We shouldn't let MS win any of the generations...

Why?Because I hate MS?...Why should I?

Because of the gaming industry? I don't give a damn about all the losses-money thing....

Because of the gaming community?Exactly...

Past 2 generations was Sony's monopoly but we saw a lot of nice games and played them (Such as res evil-gow-ico etc.)

But I don't think it would be same if those generations was MS's monopoly. Why?Because they want Windows to be everything. And they do not want consoles to replace it.As many of the gamers know after a big war of consoles there is always a monopoly. Now we are witnesses of a war going between Sony-MS(I don't count nintendo cuz that's different) do you think in the next generation this war will go again?I don't think so.

In conclusion if MS can ''conquer'' the console gaming such as Sony did in past 2 generations they will not only have all the console gaming but also the pc gaming.Which means 'massive monopoly' and not good for us gamers.(And this could be very end of the console gaming if you like apocalyptic tales....well just a theory:D)

So these are my thoughts.I just wanted to share them with you.You can disagree if you want. And sorry for bad english...

I don't see you lasting long here.

...

Honestly, who cares who wins? I'm in it for the games and my loyalty (as mercurial as it is) goes to the companies that gives me the best ones.

The only argument I can see having any merit as to wishing for one company to crush the other is that you can only have/afford one machine. And, in those cases, I do empathize but dems da breaks.

FUnny how M$ have released some of the best games and franchises ever on the xbox/360 and how it takes YEARS for some of the most popular 360 games to appear on PC. Go away.

Competition is good. Hopefully if MS wins, Sony will come back stronger and better than ever. They'll need the push.

Controversial first post!

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

MS shouldn't have a monopoly. That way they will release crap games and people will buy them because they won't have a choice. Take Vista for example, if M$ didn't have a monopoly over OS's they wouldn't be releasing expensive crap systems.

Competition is what makes this business or any business grow. No one should wish for any company to back out of the race. Who cares if MS wins a gen, obviously whoever wins a gen has earned it in the consumers eyes.

Consoles Owned: Sega Genesis, NES, PS2 (RIP) N64, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii

I disagree... IMO Microsoft realizes that even when you're on top, you have to continue to deliver to maintain that position. Now I know waves of people will read this and will be itching to complain about things they don't like about microsoft... But I think if anything, Microsoft would INCREASE quality controls if they were dominant. For instance, for a great gaming experience, Xbox 360 games are required to function a certain way with Xbox live, and these quality controls make 360's online experience the uncontested king. Microsoft has a vision for the future of gaming, but as long as they are fighting to just contend, they can't alienate third party developers with additional criteria... But if you wanted to see a future with seamless console/PC interaction, even better quality online experience, and numerous other advancements, then I belive MS gaining the dominant position in the console marketplace is a good thing.

PS - I'm referring to a positive future if Microsoft is on top - I'm not suggesting it would be better for us gamers if they had a monopoly.

You are wayyyy too paranoid.
