I think it's just Japanese gamers realizing that even though FFXIII is still exclusive to PS3 in Japan, 360 is a viable RPG console to get FF moved to in the rest of the world. This is just a theory but FFXIII announcement was most likely huge among Japanese core gamers and perhaps that announcement made them rethink their view on the console.

In the end, I have no clue. Good for 360 though. Maybe, it will finally break a million.

I think it would be pretty awesome if Microsoft started to really compete in Japan with the 360. I could be the only one though... :)

Whoa, and those abyssmall PS3 sales ( 11,000 ) are making me cry. but yeah weekly sales for the 360 in japan were a mere 2,000, but now it doubled. I wonder if the 20 GB price cut hit over there as well, anyone knows? But like i read above, maybe it's because of all these RPGS going over to the xbox? If this keeps up, will 360 finally get some recognition over there? Though some of those Japanese owners are gonna be pissed to find a power brick taking up alot of space

Because ioi felt like making them higher.

He is the boss... he can do stuff like that... Don't worry 2k really is not that much in the grand scheme of things. I could be a major retailer decided they were sick of having them take up shelve space so they liquidated them.

Really if you think about most consoles are probably 5-10k off any given week in Japan, and 10-20k in other territories.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

When I made my sig, the first bit I thought was feasible with this years lineup, the second was more a wild guess, but maybe just maybe I might be right by February. Imagine that 360 above 10,000 a week in Japan regularly? surely not.

Lets not get carried away here. 360 sales have risen from around 2000 to around 4000. Yes its a 50% percent rise, but thats like saying if it sold 1 one week and 2 the next it would have seen a dramatic rise.

The PS3 still outsold it by what....250% this week?



I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Acually you should round up, it's closer to 5000. Also Ps3 is droping about 2500 a week in jap.360 has risen in 4 weeks from 2000 to nearly 5000. At this rate you do the math.
