Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 360 week on week slowly rising in the east....Why?

Who knows. I mean, the sales are really low. I guess 5k is an improvement, but with sales that low, they're more of an educated guess rather than an actual number.

JRPG's. Sony just doesn't have any and Microsoft does. I think Sony will be releasing at least 1 or 2 suprise RPG's this winter simply because they need it.

Whether its fair the way it happened or not, the 360 is currently the place to get all upcoming JRPG's. I don't think Japan can hold out much longer without at least giving the 360 a look over with its low price and JRPG line up.

I believe the X360 is improving in the East because the console will have games that appeal to the consumer, and because MS is attempting to relate to the Japanese consumer. Here is an interesting read from 360fanboy on how they are attempting this.

I saw that as well. Not sure how it helps to have Chris Paladino telling them, "Hey, don't message me with all your squiggly lines and shit, okay?" But it was a nice gesture.

You think so? I think it was Jack Tretton the other day who said they said they don't have any in the works but that they're always looking for "opportunities." Could have been referring to first party stuff, I guess.

And neither Valkyria Chronicles (which looks AWESOME) nor Tears to Tiara seemed to do that much in Japan.

Japanese gamers are notorious for been fickle with their console choices, they're not even adopting the wii as fast as other regions. The 360 might have the better JRPG lineup than the ps3 but it is still an epic fail compared to the ps2 so both ps3 and 360 remain failures in Japan.

In the ps2 generation, there were countless jrpgs, that was all I played so I know. I couldn't even keep up. That cannot be said about the 360. It may be better that the 360 with respect to jrpgs but it is still nowhere near enough to convince the Japanese to purchase the console. There just aren't enough on any console period so consoles will continue to fare far worse than handhelds especially the HD consoles because they promise traditional games but have failed to deliver much to impress the Japanese.

I'm inclined to agree with this.

There is a rise...could be due to impending RPG releases....or it could just be chance.

If anything its Tales of Vesperia. Tales is a big RPG brand over there.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Its the price drop of the 20GB. I would call the slow increase outside of this week mostly a coincidence, although RPGs are very popular in Japan, and the 360 has a good lineup -- they might be a minor factor.

I think its because of the JRPGs coming out this year.

Ninja's raided the stores???
