You do realize there is a lot more to Sony than its gaming division correct? With the future being in HD television and Sony Tvs being some of the most popular HD tvs and with Blu Ray looking to win the format war, I'd say Sony has a great future ahead of it.


Of course Sony does, but this is a gaming forum. We are here to talk about games, and right now: Sony's future may not involve their gaming division. I'm hardly writing them off. I don't even think they will die before this generation ends, but Sony is a large corporation that exists to make a profit. If the gaming division continues to destroy those profits (for example debt outweighing revenue last quarter), you'd better believe that they will pull the plug on gaming forever. They aren't in gaming to serve you. They aren't a gaming company because they love video games. They are a gaming company because they want MONEY. That's why there is a Blu-Ray in the PS3. Not because it makes games better, because it serves their purposes.

Thanks for responding for me. ckmlb seems to think I am ignorant.

 Yup. Sony could be in the same position as Nintendo was on their third console. I surely believe that, while the PS3 wont die, it will not be dominant.

Yup. Sony could be in the same position as Nintendo was on their third console. I surely believe that, while the PS3 wont die, it will not be dominant.

it seems like no company can do three consoles in a row. Which means Microsoft is next.

Although the Xbox has performed so poorly twice in a row that it's going to be difficult to do any worse the third time

I give Xbox360 more credit than that. Seeing as they launched one full year ahead of the competition puts it in a similar position as the PS2 last gen. The 360 is in a much better position than the Xbox was, and I believe it will beat the PS3 this gen. Hell, if they would have penetrated in Japan, it would already be over for the PS3.

I think the wii sales will slowly decline the reason for this is becuz not every body wants a wii as much as a ps3 or 360, kids are most people buying it, it will decline when all of those kids have there wii's I thnk in abou 2 months.

 Um.... NVM. Believe what  you want. Wake me up in 2 months when Wii sales actually pick up even more, hard to believe right, because of the release of Metroid Prime 3.
