I don't hate the 360 I just think it's a waste of money for me to buy one.
Both consoles share %75-%80 of titles and most of the ones that aren't on PS3 I can play on my PC.
A 360 fan can't say the same for Uncharted, MGS4, GT5, Rachet and Clank etc.

Regardless, seeing how they share most of the titles I'll go with the one that will cost me less. A rechargable controller and charger(free with a PS3) sets me back another CAD$80 plus a WiFi adapter for 360 sets me back another $100(free with PS3).
My Live free another $60. When I played Live at my cousins home I've always wonder was is so much better than PSN? Looks the same? I slowly found out over time...%20 more features. Why did it take me so long to figure it out? He hardly uses them. Game play and all the main features are identical between PSN and Live.
So spend an extra $240 going with an XBox and not be able to play PS3 exclusives?
Or spend my money on a PS3 that comes with all the extra and just play any non-PS3 games(BioShock, Mass Effect, Viva Pinata etc) on my PC?
HD movie view is something that I wouldn't have bought normally until a year from now but that's a $300 value over the 360 and added free bonus over XBox. %90 of family and friends who have bought HDTV are watching cable and DVDs, so when they come over I floss my HDTV with real HD picture. Still Bluray was more of an added bonus than it was a selling point for me.

Also I got my PS2 2 years after release, from 2002 until I got my PS3 in late 2007. 5 years of fun. Working at an electronics retailer, I saw the XBox come and flop just 4 years later. If I had bought it 2 years into it's cycle like I did my PS2, that would leave me with 2 years before being ripoffed and forced to buy a 360(which costs more for me than a Ps3).
With that fresh in mind and the 360 being in 3rd for sales in the past 30 weeks and it's restrictive storage medium comes another reason; endurance. PS1 and PS2 had great life cycles. 360 is almost guarnteed to be the first curren-gen console to flop. We've seen XBox do it before.

Sony brand also has the cleanest software history.  They make promises they can't keep, spin info around and make half truthed lies.

But unlike MS software they don't try to have a monopoly(Windows) and play dirty by bribing developers to ignore other consoles or bully and intimidate 3rd parties like Nintendo has.

Riiiiight, charity or tax write off? Either or it doesn't sit well with me. America spends heaps of money in foreign affairs and my personal take on the situation is we need to stop, we honestly do more harm than good most  of the time >_> The affairs of a foreign country need to be handled by that country unless requested for help. But anyway, that's an entirely different subject which I'm sure we'll get into at some point.

So you hate Microsoft and Bill Gates because they gave food to poor Africans?  I dont know if I should laugh or cry.

We should send aid when countries ask for it?  We never give aid that the country doesnt want nor ask for it.  Africa and South America are begging for aid and debt forgiveness, and our help is only a fraction of what they ask for and need.

More harm than good?  So scholarships do students more harm than good?  Food pantries do the hungry more harm than good?  Another sad statement.

I hope that your irrational hatred of Microsoft, for whatever illogical reason, has caused you to adopt such a silly world viewpoint and that you didn't come up with these ideas on your own logical accord.

I hate Microsoft because of Paul Allen.  He's the current owner of the Seahawks, and I'm a Giants fan. That does not bode well with me.

Microsoft makes crap: Vista which slows the computer down, IE which is simply one big security vunerability and 360 which still has a big failure rate. Besides, almost everything is copied from someone else, mostly Apple. I would give you $1000 if you could name me one thing that was created by Microsoft.

^^^^^^^^^ get over yourself -_- I've got my own views on world politics and I stand by them thanks. I love how you talk about scholarships, and poor, and homeless...and terminally ill blah blah blah blah blah. Yeah we still have that in America >_> who's taking care of these people? Not microsoft. Can it.

I never said I hated micrsoft because they were charitable... I'm just saying don't automatically assume it's because they have interest in Africa >_> Many companies do many things for many reasons for all these types of charities. Microsoft is not our good generous savior...

I don't remember saying that Nintendo and Sony didn't.  This is a topic about MS not the others so stop putting words in my mouth that ya know I didn't say.

And I don't hate them because they are top dog.  Hell if I wanted to hate on the biggest corporations why would I go so low as MS.  I'd start talkign about Exxon are Wal-Mart.  They make MS look like a baby company.  I hate the corporatino for those exact reasons.  They are waht really keep the mainstream from advancing in technology because they don't have to respond to the competition anymore.  That's why monopolies need to be controlled.  I'm just glad Apple is making lead way in the OS market, otherwise MS would never make a more approachable OS.

So you hate the idea corporations?  I agree with you there as they are set up so that their only goal is profit regardless of means.

Reminds me of: Corporation: An ingenious device for obtaining profit without individual responsibilty. - Ambrose Bierce

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but when you single out an individual entity, it is to be reasoned that you have reasons for these feelings that are different than other entities of the same class.  If I hate American football I'm not going to rant about how I dislike the St. Louis Rams, I'm going to talk about how I dislike American football.

1. Actually Microsoft is helping take care of these people buy paying taxes which the government uses to fund aid programs as well as job multipliers where Microsoft owners and employees put more money into the economy and create more jobs.  Also, Bill Gates directly donates money to such causes.

2. I didnt know that Windows OS or XBox 360 was big in Africa.  Maybe disadvantaged Africans can purhcase an Xbox 360 while they are in the bread line.

Squashing smaller companies, destroying market innovation, releasing sub-par OSes just cause they can, overcharging because of their monopoly, continually trying to extend their monopoly into other markets, constant attacks on PC gaming through horrible systems like Games for Windows Live, practices of selling private information and holes in their security on Internet Explorer to anyone willing to pay, blatant robbing of ideas of other companies (Internet Explorer from Firefox, Vista from OSX, Zune from iPod, and numerous things from Sony and Nintendo), practices of buying out patents then just letting them sit so no one can ever use them and advance past their own creations, and most recently the creation of the Xbox 360, one of the least reliable pieces of gaming hardware ever made (STILL has >16% failure rate).

Fortunately for perhaps the world in general Microsoft is nearing the end of their days. Their expansion markets have all been cut off. Despite bleeding money into the 360 it's moving quickly into 3rd place worldwide, Zune was slaughtered by Apple, PC gaming was taken over by Valve and digital distribution, Google kicked them out of the internet and Firefox takes more internet explorer users every year. Google is very quickly nearing a position where they can begin to destroy Microsoft, and in 10 years Microsoft will be a shadow of their current self.

For the record, Bill Gates is a great guy. I really like Bill Gates. He was smart, innovative, and giving, but the company he created has become monstrous and a plague on technology and innovation.

Well written Naz...couldn't have worded it better. I also like Bill Gates for his charity but can't stand M$ the company. Using money to muscle through everything gets you uncool points. Thankfully, their reign is nearing its end, we just need a replacement for vista. I wanted a mac at first but unfortunately most programs that are available only work on PC especially the lessr known. Also, I don't like Apple's mac monopoly either. Hopefully a new brand of OS would be releasing soon an gain popularity.

They try to get monopolies.
They abuse all the power they can grab.
