Don't listen to the haters, Blue Dragon is a great game and you can find it pretty much.

The ending is sooo awesome that the fact we won't get a BD2 makes me a sad panda =(

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Perhaps I could add a little freshness to the debate. Have you considered the financial benefits of purchasing titles in this genre that have already been released. They are sure to be far more cost effective. The 360 already has a few notable titles in this genre. When I say notable I mean they have average scores 8/10. Those titles are Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, and Lost Odyssey.

Out of the three titles you presented only one title arrives within the next month. The other will not arrive till the middle of November, and the third will not arrive till some time next spring. Further more the earliest you can pick up any of these titles is in two weeks with Infinite Undiscovery.

Anyway being behind the market as happen to be your case. You can enjoy your position to its fullest. You can pick up older titles and save yourself a wad of cash, and as you play those newer titles can also see a price decrease. Your not exactly in the same boat as everyone else who has played those three games I listed out. Just some food for thought I am not sure why you are thinking three or seven months in advance, and if you have the craving right now why wait two weeks. Why pay first day prices when you can avoid paying for them.

Exactly, that's why i mentioned Level-5 JRPGs that are already out...

Well, I'm playing through it now for the first time, so I don't know how it ends. But I'm pretty sure Sakaguchi has said there's a Blue Dragon 2 in the works. Not to mention Blue Dragon Plus for the DS. And the anime. It's a pretty bumping little franchise.

But I agree about its quality. Can't really understand all the criticism it's received. Blue Dragon is really a great game. Scatological, perhaps, but great!

I believe the topic is about Xbox 360 JRPGs...Not last-gen JRPGs.

And I'll echo in: Blue Dragon is very, very good. Awesome visuals, great battle system, very difficult and strategic with the DLC Hard Mote. The story is mediocre, and the VA is OK. But overall, the game is incredibly polished, and a great Dragon Quest-esque JRPG.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Tales of Vesperia

Its a beautiful game, but the first 5 minutes of the demo made me want to blow my head off.  I need JRPGs that feel mature, and this felt like I was watching a conversation between 4 11 year olds.

Bethesda's Todd Howard "if install base really mattered, we'd all make board games, because there are a lot of tables."

You should get Lost Odyssey, that game is quite mature for a JRPG

Eternal Sonata.... I have all 5 faceplates, but have yet to play the game. Too many good games, not enough time.. -_-

Ouch. There goes the best option...I'd say infinite undiscovery then, since its coming out a bit before the others.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
