We Love Golf.

Forums - Nintendo Discussion - We Love Golf.

Due to my massive paycheck I buy game(s) every week in bulks of 3 (joking) and decided to pick up "We Love Golf", I got this nifty little red duffle bag thing that has "We Love Golf" written on it for free also. Now that is immersion right off the bat.. though I can't find it right now.

Anyway - this game is amazing, totally smacking Wii Sports golf game around the place in what a golf game should be, of course I golf with only the best doctors and other high class professionals/executives that do nothing but take in money (joke) so I know the true golfing experience and this is it.

So all joking aside the game is as perfect as I could want it to be, the rewards are great, the voices amazing but all technicality aside, the game has a 2 minute learning curve and from there it's pick up and play, Camelot did an amazing job and I actually preffer this game to Mario Kart Wii and probably even Brawl, all I can say for certain is it took me off of Zelda: Twilight Princess and is about to take me off of VGchartz.

I'd say it's a solid buy even if your not a sports fan, nor a golf fan, this game just makes it easy to learn how to golf, and it's feels the closest to the golfing experience that I can remember experiencing in a video game. Oh it has online also, and the interface is very similar to Mario Karts, it also keeps track of your wins and losses and the AI isn't ridiculously difficult either.

There are tuns of events to do and if your not a golf fan or you just don't like swinging a club for some reason then this might wear you down - for me doing online is like a breather from playing offline.

Edit- Sorry on my Ps3 I have to add the html to the spacing.

Man, i was interested in this game, but now i don't want to buy any games using motion controls for fine motor skills until motion + comes out :(

Actually the motion controls are used but in a way that isn't detrimental to your shot, you can cancel the shot at any time if your fast enough. Also the way it's done allows for almost a double "are you ok with this shot?" kind of feel while your doing the shot. It's not bad at all - I just beat the first Torny and unlocked sea side resort. Busted Zack and Wiki up badly.

Camelot made the Mario Golf game on the Cube. That was my favorite golf game ever, so I picked up We Love Golf on day one. Here's more details:

Not only can you unlock better golfers by beating them in Match Play, but you can also increase their abilities by defeating them with "Stars" added next to their name. I'm not sure how many "Stars" it tops out at, but I've increased one character to a two-star level and have the option to add a third.

When you add star levels to your golfer, it also adds new, more intricate outfits as well. I'm a whore for costumes :)

If you beat certain challenges, you can unlock Capcom character outfits, too. I've unlocked Jill from Resident Evil and some Fae character from Ace Attorney (I've never played them, so I don't know who she is). Some characters will also be from Street Fighter etc.. I'm hoping for a Mega Man costume, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

The game can be as simple or advanced as you like. You can add spin, hook, fade, etc.. Some of the advanced challenges (the ones that unlock special costumes) take unbelievable skill. There are target challenges, hoop challenges, near pin contests, and more.

The graphics are good enough. The characters have VERY limited celebration animations and dialogue, so it can get annoying quickly, but you can skip them.

They removed some of the better things from Mario Golf, though. You can use a Power Swing at any time with no limitation. In Mario Golf, you had a set amount (three, I think), though if you hit it perfectly, you wouldn't lose one. Also, the taunting has been removed. That was always one of my favorite features.

There is Mii integration...kinda. When you win a tourny, all of your Miis comprise the audience applauding you.

All-in-all I'm VERY happy with the game. My arm is sore as hell from the hours I've put in so far.

For me , great game.Good graphic.

Hmm may look into it now.

UPDATE:

I just unlocked Chun Li and Ryu costumes.

Also, once you beat the final golfer (Brian) in Match Play, you unlock the ability to play as your Miis. Actually, they stick your Mii head on one of the golfers' bodies. It looks hilarious :)
