Forums - Gaming Discussion - Whats so "fun" about the wii?

I'm looking forward to getting MLB Power Pros 2008. The only decision I have to make is to buy it for PS2 or Wii.

That brought up an interesting situation.... with a steady and slow stream of PS2 games coming out, most are already ported on Wii. The Wii could actually kill PS2's longevity, as so many consoles are out on the market. If you have both, why not get the game on the more advanced/reliable system?

Interesting... Wii could end PS2's life more quickly.

Checkers Age and replayability > Halo Age and replayability

Therefore, Checkers > Halo

So, Checkers is a better game than Halo.

Well, they did. Unless you like Mario, they screwed you.  And personally, I've gotten tired of playing mario these past 12 years.

Hmm.  I haven't.  Played Galaxy a few weeks ago extensively, for the first time.  Can't say it was boring.  I played for a number of hours straight.  Mario Kart is always fun...

It's just the two main philosophies:

A)  I hate Nintendo because their games don't have killing people senselessly, real-life graphics, or bragging rights.

B)  I like Nintendo because I like games, and don't -need- bazookas with heads blowing off with ozzing blood to look cool, and have more bragging rights with a Wii anyway.  Chicks dig it.

Chicks dig, you win.  Only one real way to look at it.

"If Nintendo had bit the bullet, and released Wii at comparable graphical power to 360 (risking a loss on hw sales) with the waggle functionality and $249 price point I'm fairly sure it would have made PS3/360 functionally obsolete rather than just graphically high end & ease of control low end competitors because you'd have more sophisticated games with simple control."

With so many FEW privately owned studios developing games it's hard to imagine how Wii being more graphically intense would support more games at all. granted, Carnival Games didn't appeal to me.... but somehow, it did to others. Would that game even have existed if it required a more elaborate graphics attempt? It would have cost more money to make.

I like how the next game I plan on buying will be on PS2 or Wii. For $30. That's because it's cheap to make these days. Not so much the new flashy 'junk'.
