Forums - Sales Discussion - Xbox 360 now at 9.9 million? Sup VGC?

VGC's charts don't match their own numbers either.

good for you, you noticed that the graphical representation of the numbers is incorrect. They graphs still represent which system has sold more, but this error doesn't matter for those that can read and comprehend numbers.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

We're now subtracting systems that die due to the 'Red Ring of Death'. Expect further revisions downwards and to see negative numbers in the near future. ;)

(And if you can't tell that's a joke, you're in the wrong place!)

Those aren't "charts," they're just bars.  Perhaps they are off...but it's not the most urgent issue to update.  Those are just there for a nice graphical representation of our numbers...makes it easier to tell how far apart systems are.  If you want accurate charts, go to the section of the site devoted to charts.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Microsoft already announced that they "shipped" 10.4 million, so I really wonder if they'll make an announcement when the 360 hits 10 million sold to customer..

Doubtful. I thnk we'll have to wait until MS's Annual Report comes out on 7/28 to get any additional information on shipment numbers. I, for one, am interested in their projections for the next fiscal year. Sony has already said they're only making about 11M PS3s (4/1/07 - 3/31/08), and Nintendo estimated 14M Wiis for the same time period.

(Edit: 360 total shipments was about 11M as of 3/31/07 with only about 500K shipped during the 1st Q 2007.)

Microsoft won't make any announcement about how many consoles have actually reached consumers...that'd hurt them more than help.

They aren't, except maybe in a lame browser. The DS's is 150 units wide the PSP's is 74 units wide, which gives a more than accurate representation of market share.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.
