Forums - Gaming Discussion - A scary thought about Square-Enix's Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360

i dislike multiplatform games iff vs truns multiplatform i might not play it at all-

Around the Network

The thing that is holding Versus up from going to the 360 is SQE is waiting for the next truck load of money to come from MS. While it is definitely in their financial interest to port it Microsoft has shown continued willingness to cough up the cash. Does anyone think the 360 games made by SQE will go the the PS3 now?

With the way the timeframe is going FFXIII and Versus may show up on the Wii2 when it arrive in 2011-2012. Wouldn't that may the Sony folks sad.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

*naznatips is exempt

i think you verry much overrate the ff XIII spin-offs. I think xbox users will propably look to the last renmant, star ocean or other rpgs :)

That and i think you overestimate their exclusivity.

FFV13 is likely no longer exclusive, but square is waiting until shortly before FF13 is released (or shortly before FFV13) to announce it for more impact.

I don't think they've made a decision yet at all, but are just taking a "wait and see" approach.

If FFXIII comes out and sells like 4:1 on the PS3 (not saying this will happen) and the PS3 Userbase is booming (compared to the 360) then I think it will stay Exclusive.

If the PS3 version outsells the 360 version 1.5:1 and the userbases are still close in EU/NA, then it probably would go Multi.

But since this is all 2+ years away, a lot can happen.

4:1... it'd need to be like 10:1. The estimated price for porting a game from one HD console to the other is 10%.

So anything over 10:1 is pure profit for the 360 compared to PS3.

RE: Soriku

Your logic is flawed. By what your saying, then Pokemon Yellow should be a spin-off from Pokemon Blue/Red, but its not.

It is a spin off...

It came later just after the success of the anime, it just features a couple of new things (Pikachu as you main Pokemon, teh Rocket team from the Tv and you can get Squirtle, Charmander and Bulvasaur)... sorry pal but Pokemon yellow is just a spin of from the main series... (Compatible yes, but an spin off after all...)

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is not a Spin-Off

it is just two different Director's who wanted to each make their own vision of FFXIII.

That's exactly right. The TC has inadvertantly owned Sony fanboys.

That said, to the casual audience, FFV13 WILL be viewed as a spinoff.

So it's a safe bet that Square gave the FFXIII name to the team they thought would do the best job.

Despite what could be the excellence of Verses, in all likelyhood it will sell very poorly compared to XIII.

That just shows you how important a name can be.

Also, I am not a huge KH fan, and I believe XIII to be the more traditional experience of the two games just based off assumptions. Therefore, I'm more excited about XIII, because imo, Verses has been really low profile, and there must be some reason behind that.

I would assume the XIII is going to be AAA. I can't make that same assumption about Verses for those same reasons. I can't go into more detail if you'd like.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

The casual audience and oh... 90% of the "hardcore" audience. This is the very first thread i've seen on this site that hasn't called V13 a spinoff.

Everyone was fine calling it a spinoff.... until Sony lost FF13.  Go figure.  Wonder if it gets announced for 360 if people will go back to calling it "just a spinoff."

The only thing MS needs to worry about, is quality. If this game is going to be a system seller. If it's better on the PS3, it will sell a lot more PS3's then 360's.

If MS didn't pay a fortune for this title, then it still a huge win for them, but depending on what the product will be, it might not change the landscape as much as they hoped.

Was Kingdom Hearts a posion pill for the PS2 because the spin off was for GBA? Where the PS2 FF spin offs any good? No on both counts. I wouldn't worry, buying it on 360 will be fine if you so choose.
