My guess is 4-5 tops

Around the Network

6??
why?
man be serious ,,,
4 max
:)

i agree with chrotrigger.

if they want like for like content with nothng compressed audio/video etc then it would have to be 6-8

but i highly doubt very much that they will release it on that mnay disks, they can pop same content on id say 4, but then again if you look at lost oddesee and ff13 the grafical difference in the textures and video, it would have to be turned down quite a bit to fit on 4.

4 possible 5 max.

i on the other hand will have it on one disk (asian localised import *cough *cough) <------------ i hope

f they want the SAME experience as the PS3 version, and IF the PS3 version fills up the full 50 gigs, realistically I'd say 8 disc's.

The 360 DRM allows about 7 gig per disc, and on multi-disc games you need to have the game's engine on each disc, I'll assume that takes up about a gig of space, giving around 6 gigs of data per disc. 50/6 leaves room for 8 discs. That's if they want the same quality audio, same resolution FMV, and IF SE takes up the full 50 gigs.

There also has to be a lot of repeated data, but that could be overcome by adding an HDD install

True, but taking into consideration that not every 360 has a hard drive, it can't be a forced option. I'd say we could literally see 8 disc's for FFXIII.

Anyone here think SE will come out with special edition that packs a few extra dvds in and make it 13 in total? ;)

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

No discs! It's never coming out. At least, after waiting for so long since the game was first announced, that's how it feels. Dammit, Square!! Give me something to salivate over!

This is a nonentity. As far as JRPGs go, we've been swapping discs since the advent of the ps1. Even if it's 10 discs, only those who need wii fit would care!

It is annoying, but when you are getting to 8 discs it is just ridiculous, also think of the storage solutions

Depends on how much FMV there is and how willing Square-Enix is to compress it ... You can fit (roughly) 4 Hours of compressed FMV at 720p on a single DVD. Realistically, I would expect that they will release it on 2 discs (with 4 being the maximum).

My guess is 6, maybe more. It all depends on the size of the game.

One DVD disc holds 7GB of data on it. So if FF XIII game is 50GB, 8 discs will be needed.

10 .. 8 for the game 2 for extra stages exclusive for 360... got it.

Didn't kingofwale make a similar thread?
