Microsoft has a universal standard for their controllers, even the guitar and drum ones, which is why they are compatible since both GH and RB have the same standard. Since GH and Rock Band both did not use PS3 bluetooth but GH used dongles, it may be harder to allow interoperability since they both use different ways to communicate with the console.
