Forums - Sony Discussion - $2.99 is good for movie rentals(on PS store),isn't it?

If comparable to most pay-per-view.

If the 2.99 stays uniform over all releases it'll be cheaper than new releases from both XBLM and AppleTV. Same price for all 3 catalog content.

yea but still up to 1 hour for full download?

How fast do you download at torrents, I wonder?

I usually do 40 minutes to an hour for any movie too, so I don't see the difference with this service Sony is providing, aside from the fact that I can't watch 1 minute after starting my download with torrents...

It's pretty a nice price. Renting a DVD at hollywood's cost about $4 and Blu-rays around $6.

with the Netflix subscription and PS3 you can even watch blu-ray at no extra charge :)

Not to mention the gas you use getting to the rental place.

@Papfelsje
Yea i download anywhere from half hour to a few hours depends on the torrent. Also the fact that you brought up torrents though to compare? We are talking about legitimate rentals :D unless you speak otherwise about torrenting ;)

Do we know what TV shows cost?

Well it's no problem for me since Hollywood is only 2 blocks away (I can walk there, but it's pretty hot outside). But yeah it could be a problem for others.

yea but still up to 1 hour for full download? you could start watching but you would be getting a lot of buffering till it is fully downloaded.

Also 2.99 for a movie rental? i am paying 15 for unlimited a month :P sigh

 No, you wouldn't get any buffering. Most films are a good 80 mins+ so the guy saying it would take an hour to download is saying that it will download faster than real time so you wouldn't get ANY buffering provided the service was\is reliable.

This is only for SD though...

To be honest its more limited by YOUR isp than anything.
