Forums - Sony Discussion - the Blu-ray thread, will go on untill hddvds death.

Samsung is going to start selling a dual-format (both BD and HDDVD) for $400 in a few months.

Sorry, no link, but it is good to know that the prices for these things are still coming down. Personally, I'm not going to start buying a HD player until I can get a $200 model....so I may have to wait another year.

Biggest HDDVD's flop during past 90 days. It's happening right now.

Hey Kber81,

is it because of the 5 BR movie that u get with PS3 in amazon.com ????????

there are maybe counting them on BR score

Time to Work !

Yeah, it's probably easy to have great BR "sales" when you're throwing them around in all directions.

They don't count these movies as they didn't count extra casino royale. BTW it's not about BR success but about HDDVD's flop. You can spin BR position as you like but you can't change miserable position of HDDVD (below 6k) on this graph.

 @ NJ5

Can you even imagine how this graph would look like if they counted in these 20k blu ray discs bundled with already sold PS3? I can't. Actually sale decreased with price drop of PS3.

I also doubt the 5 free BD disks you get by mail in from buying a ps3 or BD player is counted in any of those numbers as that promo just started on July 1.

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

This thread, and all the bickering in general between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD people makes me glad I don't give half a shit about it. I'm more than glad to let DVD run its course for a few more years, at the least. Try again next decade, thanks.

It looks like you care enough to post in this topic... Thanks to you for your valuable contribution.

i really dont understand why they would bring out a next generation dvd format....DVD is now so freakin well known...why bring a new technology out that most people wont know about and that most cant afford the blu-ray player right now because its not determine
