I wouldn't know honestly. I tinkered around with widgets for a little while, but ultimately decided I didn't like any of them and left it alone.

Gearbox said: Opera is the same web browser as the Nintendo Wii. It is a very old Web Browser and only 1.7% of the people with internet use it.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxEDITxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Safari 3 is the fastest web browser |
Hey, those numbers are totally bullocks. Not your fault though.
http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php
You have to divide up the Fire Foxes to make a fair comparison.
1 | Internet Explorer 6.0 | 36.24% |
2 | Internet Explorer 7.0 | 25.19% |
3 | Firefox 2.0 | 23.20% |
4 | Firefox 1.5 | 3.92% |
5 | Firefox 3.0 | 1.16% |
6 | Opera 9.2 | 1.13% |
7 | Safari 2.0 | 1.10% |
8 | Safari 3.0 | 0.92% |
9 | Firefox 1.0 | 0.74% |
10 | Mozilla 1.8 | 0.60% |
So Opera 9.2 is in fact at the same size as FF 3.0
Hey, Opera is the slowest? You have no proof of this. Well, I'll prove you wrong.

Edit: it came out a bit unreadable. Well, the Operas beat everything on Cold start. On Warm start, Opera 6.03 wins, then IE 6, then Netscape 4, then the rest of the Operas.
The FFs are far, far down. In fact, Opera 9.2 uses 1/4th of the time on a cold start, and 40% less time on a warm start.
Edit 2: it came out double unreadable, so I took out the graphs.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS
^
Because of the stats, I DL'ed Opera.
It's a lot faster, more customisable, easier to use, and more. It's simply amazing. FireFox is outdated in comparison, and while IE is as good in most, it is a lot slower.

Seriously, no. Plugin development without access to the source code is going to be limited and badly integrated.
If you want extensibility, you need a Firefox derivative or some other open-source license browser.

There is one thing you didn't take into consideration with that comparison:
"Hardware; 800 MHz Intel Pentium 3, 256 MB RAM"
Opera performs better in this scenario because it has less demanding system requirements. On a decent computer, Firefox will perform better under most conditions. Anyone that has a computer bought in the last couple of years and requires flexibility would be better off using Firefox.
Also, comparing Opera 9.2 to Firefox 3 is obviously an unfair comparison. Opera's market penetration is clearly much lower than that of Firefox.
Opera's great, ive been using it for months, my ex introduced me to it (just about the only good thing he did)
It's alright, but I hardly ever use it. Firefox I use sometimes, but I find Safari to be the fastest, easiest and most intuitive. Too bad it's having trouble with some websites.
Nintendo Network ID: Cheebee 3DS Code: 2320 - 6113 - 9046
Opera is great man, i useing the speed dial feature with it aswell

That set-up will more than meet the requirments for any browser. You could repeat the test on any viable PC today and get the exact same results. I can't even understand why you would think a web browser would be limited on that set-up let alone why you think only Firefox would get a performance boost. Opera is an amazingly fast and efficient browser that just never got popular.
