Forums - Gaming Discussion - is there "REALLY" any "graphical" difference?

hi everyone

lately i've been SEEING threads made to compare the graphics of the games of ps3 and xbox360

"look here the graphics are sharper here"

"the ground is more detailed"

"OMG THE LEFT HAND IS MUCH MORE BETTER HERE"

and i was like O-o

would that difference make a difference and change sombody's mind in which console to buy?

i'm ok with the graphics of both consoles ,, i would only care if there is a big leap ,,

Sure it would.

Of course, there are some people who would probably decide which system to buy based on its color too so it's best not to get too worked up over it.

In the end it doesn't matter which they get... as long as they get a Wii first.

In multiplatform games not anymore. This was different for example for Assassin's Creed and Half-Life. Where the 360 version had less framerate problems (at least this were the games I played where I saw it) which was really relevant for gamers. But by now multiplatform titles are all but identical.

We will see if there will be a noticeable quality difference in future exclusives.

No. There is no difference.

The difference in grafix between X360 and PS3 is negilible.

No one in the real world cares. It's only interesting for debates between fanboys on the net.

Hell, some people buy a console based on the fun experiences they can have on it.  I'll never understand them...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I doubt, most of the time, that people are going to notice the difference between most PS3 and 360 games. And I doubt people are even going to care unless you have two TVs right next to each other doing a comparison. I mean you see in some comparisons that they've zoomed in heaps just to spot some difference. The thing is when I play a game, I wont be zooming and and I'll be sitting a reasonable distance back from the TV. So I think whatever version of a game a person buys they will be happy.

Of course there could be the odd occassion where one system might have a far superior looking game. But I don't think you should go and buy a different system because of that. You're still going to recieve the same gameplay experience(I'm guessing, unless one has a tonn of bugs). And whatever it is it will probably still look and better than anything from last gen. If you have both systems, then maybe the one that has the better graphics is the best option.

I agree with you, small differences do not matter.

There are peaople that will see a PS3 game looking better (even though it doesn't) just because they've been programmed to do so. They paid more for the system and have heard much more hype about it from Sony...the Hulk will look 10 times better on ps3 than 360 in their eyes.

Also on the same note...some people will see xbox online being better because they have been programmed to do so(and cause they are paying for it).

I bet we will get a picture of Uncharted in the next 10 posts.

lol...followed by Killzone 2 vs Crysis comparison.

Why would I, as a multiplatform owner, want to buy an inferior version of a game? The comparisons are useful.
