Delusional - I dont understand your post. However it seems like your not giveing much credit to the Wii... as the PS3 is the RPG winner this year. (PS2/PS3) BenKenobi - Neither am I. I am bashing the most imporant thing. 3rd party games. Darc Requiem - I still think the X-Box had some BEAUTIFUL games compared to the GC. Did Anyone see what I posted this about? Look at his prediction. Look at what he says about the Wii. THAT IS MY POINT.
I'm saying people shouldnt just a console by graphics becuase Wii's strategy is not to gain market share through graphics. i just feel julian's focus shouldn't be on graphics and complaining the developers are sloppy. anwyays..., i dont see why you say PS3 is RPG winner this year. There isn't even one good RPG out for the PS3 yet and there's still a chance FF13 will be delayed this year

Currently loving my Wii x2, Xbox 360 Pro & Xbox 360 Arcade, and Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Limited "Cloud Black" 160GB PS3

Chance? In Japan, maybe late 2007 release date. In NA? 2008.

So this somehow makes his point invalid?
Kwaad said: Gabe LIES. and I mean. That the worst way possible.
I guess. It's like how. Writing something. Incomprehensible as this. Makes you're points invalid.

Kwaad said: I just want you to know this. You just lost ALOT of credit pointing at that guy. Is he rich? Yes. Does he own a VERY wealthy company? yes. Does he spew more **** out his mouth than me? YES. If Bill Gates said exactly the same thing... I Beleive it alot more. Bill gates dosent lie. He just manuplates the truth, and stretches it. Gabe LIES. and I mean. That the worst way possible. Seriously. Do you even know who he is and what he has said in the past? He has screwed publishers over completely. Some publishers WILL NOT publish his works. Even though they KNOW they will make killer money. They WILL NOT do it. Because they WILL not put up with his ****. He loves the Wii, because it is the ultimate platform to put his SOURCE engine on. He can sell it to anyone he pleases, and Nothing can truely rival it. At Doom3 is too advanced. And Unreal2... Obviously is also too advanced. I am sure that without a doubt Source would probibally be one of the best looking engines on the Wii. If the Wii wins. He wins. He dont give a ****. He just wants money. And his engine looks like ASS on PS3/360.
Well, Kwaad, I just want you to know, whatever credit I gave you is pretty much lost now. You gave me Julian Eggebrecht's opinion in that article. It's just an opinion. I gave you Gabe Newell's opinion. It's just an opinion. Stop pretending that either of these man's OPINIONS is fact. You bashed all our responses to the article you posted, as if you believed that Eggebrecht's prediction of the PS3's future was canon. I realize that he made a prediction that you agree with, but don't force it upon us...it is only an opinion, and you should learn to respect other people's opinions as well. Also...Source looks pretty sweet on the PC...it's still a top-notch game engine...I don't know why it would look better on the Wii and not the PS3...I wasn't even aware of any Wii projects for Valve... That said, I think Gabe Newell is greatly exaggerating and shouldn't be taken so seriously...but he does feel the PS3's launch sucked apparently.

Yeah FFXIII was delayed. I think people here are missing Julians point. Developers shouldn't have to jump through hoops to add both graphics and performance to thier wii games because alot of legwork was done already on the GC. According to him it is easy and I "know" some of you gamecube fans have seen what type of awesomeness it can do. If the Wii is as twice as powerful and pretty much is a build up off of the GC then why does it seems like the majority of games are rushed messes? I think people are a little to accepting when it comes to thier fave consoles. I did my part and ripped each for thier horrible launches.

Time magazine, Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006 "TO PLAY'S THE THING The big story in computer games this year was HOW TO BLOW A HUGE LEAD, by Sony. Its PlayStation 2 was the champ in the last round of the console wars. This time Sony bet on a chip called the Cell and a disc format called Blu-ray. They're probably awesome, but how would anybody know? The PS3 is hideously expensive--it goes for up to $600--and Sony manufactured only a piddling few hundred thousand for the U.S., fewer for Japan. Plus it's hard to write games for; the launch titles were lame. You know you're in trouble when you get beat by something called a Wii." Time magazine, Monday, Oct. 30, 2000 "Even before this Thursday's official launch, Sony has lost goodwill, not to mention sales, for PlayStation2 with its glitchy product rollout. The company's recent announcement that it was cutting the number of PS2s available on launch day by 50% was a cruel blow to parents who had promised Junior one of the first units. And it is a headache for the 20,000 retailers selling PS2s--many of which began taking orders six months ago. The stores are bracing for hordes of irate customers."There will be people lined up in front of the doors," sighs Dan DeMatteo, president of Babbage's Etc., the nation's largest specialty video-games retailer. Babbage's has prepaid orders from five times as many customers as it will have units for this week. Sony won't explain what went wrong. Sony Computer Entertainment president Kazuo Hirai will say only that PlayStation2 is a "very complex machine that requires a lot of components." But the guessing in Japan is that the company botched the production of graphics chips. No modem is included with PS2, which puts it behind Sega's Internet-ready Dreamcast. But PS2 does have one feature parents will appreciate: it is backward compatible, meaning it can play the original PlayStation's 800 existing games. But many of the most eagerly anticipated titles, like Metal Gear Solid 2 and the Bouncer, won't be available until spring at the earliest. The early word on the playing experience--outside of Sony's launch party--is not particularly enthusiastic. "There is nothing on the PS2 that I've seen that gave me that jaw-dropping feeling I got with the Sega Dreamcast last year," says Dan Clark, 29, CEO of a New Hampshire credit union and an active gamer. Madden NFL 2001 is good, he says, but no better than games currently available on Dreamcast. Part of the reason for the underwhelming array of games, gamemakers say, is that PS2 is hard to program for. "The PS2 is definitely more powerful than Dreamcast," says John Carmack, the multimillionaire, ponytailed master gamer behind legendary shooters like Doom and Quake. "But it's less convenient to extract performance from it." "The PlayStation2 doesn't live up to Sony's hype," says Carmack. "It's just a next-generation machine, and they were acting like they'd invented the steam engine." But the biggest prize of all lies in turning gaming consoles into broad-ranging entertainment centers. Sony acknowledges this future by calling PS2 not a game console but a "computer entertainment system." And Sony, with its wealth of consumer-electronics devices and enormous movie and music businesses, may have the most to gain by branching out. Count on it to use PlayStation2 in the future as a platform for an array of synergistic nongaming applications, from editing digital movies made on Sony camcorders to downloading Sony-brand music and music videos. "PlayStation2 seems to be no more than a DVD player that can play games," grumbles Mike Roberts, an 18-year-old gamer from Missouri who says he won't be buying a PS2. "It should be the other way around." Deja Vu anyone? I especially want to point out carmacks statements. He came back around and made disparaging comments about the PS3 as well. Keeping in mind that Gabe was the biggest wii fan you can imagine...... before the system was even released. I am going to take his comments with a grain of salt. These american devs who normally make games for the PC spoke in the past on consoles and were wrong. Why on earth does anyone care now?

Honestly...I don't agree with Gabe's opinion...just pointing out that Kwaad takes opinions WAY too seriously.

Kwaad takes anything he can get that he could possibly spin in favor of the PS3 or against the Wii. Considering how both are selling, can you really blame a Sony loving troll? You almost have to feel sorry for them. Almost.

The way I see it is that Julian Eggebrecht said that the Wii is a lot more powerful than the Gamecube, and developers just have to use that power. Last time I read Kwaad's posts he insisted on the opposite. We will have Wii games with much stonger graphics down the road.
