Rumor: Wal-Mart memo says 40GB PS3 to be replaced in August

What do you think?   Could be bogus or just an inclusion of a DS3,only time will tell.

Since MS appears to be upping the 20GB HDD in their 360 Pro model to 60, it makes sense for Sony to at least match or even beat their competition on this spec. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony reintroduce a 60GB model w/o backwards compat. or to provide even more storage space in all of their models since hard drives have been coming down in price a lot lately.

i think it is not going to get a new product so quickly in reponse to MS... they must have been planning for it like months.. or they r just going to introduce a new model with new games and nothing more... if they have to change the hardware specs then they need more time..

It would make sense to include the DS3 and up the HDD capacity, a 80GB HDD is cheaper than a 40GB and a 160GB is just about 7 bucks more expensive than a 40GB HDD.

Holiday pack in bundle, plus the 65nm RSX.
Wouldn't be surprised if those were the only changes although I wouldn't necessarily rule out a larger HDD for the entry model.

DS3 as well since I'm pretty sure the SixAxis is no longer being produced (I haven't seen them in stores lately).

I'm gonna go with Dualshock 3 and larger hard drive.

that does actually look like Wal-Marts future product change log thing. Maybe they will release a 60GB model. lol

most likely another bundle for 40GB.

I think it's going to be another game + DS3 + 40GB version

Thats why I don't get why MS didn't just jump straight to an 80gb hdd, the cost between that and a 60gig are single digit dollars if not the same.
