Monster Hunter has always been in my top 10 favorite games - it's going to make the transition into the US mainly because I'm going to throw the sales horribly askew by saving up my next 3 weeks of income and buying a few thousand copies.

That's quite a salary you have there!

If I was being serious the real wealth would have to come in tounge as explaining that to my g/f would be a magical experience.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

No its a capcom game. They choose where it goes. And using your logic, final fantasy is a Nintendo game. Also I doubt the last part of your post will happen.

 Are you serious on this?

I don't even know what MH is. Are you guys sure this would even see a release outside Japan?

Hahaha a Wii -> PS3 port would be terrible! Not only would it lack the graphics for a PS3 game but it would also lose the motion controls that set the Wii apart.

Also it isn't a Sony game, it belongs to a third party and goes where that third party wants it. Of course Capcom cares about money, they are a company - making money is their business.

@Pristine20. Yeah I'm fairly sure its been confirmed to release worldwide.

Devs aren't stupid. I mean the 360 userbase in Japan is well not enough to get any sales profits. Meaning every project has to be multiplatform with PS3 almost. And if it's a heavy Japanese game it's even more risky because can't count on American. Then you got the PS3 which takes a lot of money to develop on and time, and for a userbase that is not very large, a third the size of the Wii's. I mean it's hard to win in Japan for devs when they stay on PS3 and 360, just for those reason, especially if the game has little outside appeal, like Monster Hunter.

Then there's the Wii which has seen dominant first party sales with few third party games selling well. Although most of this has to do with not brining top name brands to the system, and when they did they were well pathetic, especially in Japan where alot of the Wii owners which are probably the dominant buyer by a longshot. Thus you didn't see a lot of support but mainly as a slap in the face at their own mistakes. But now you are seeing more devs start to go that way mainly because they have no other choice and because even if the game doesn't sell well there is still less risk than if it had been put on PS3 or 360, especially if it's Japanese only kinda game. Thus this is really no surprise. Japanese market is kinda a bad spot for 3rd party devs right now, but I think they can flip it around simply by giving the Wii better games, and MH3 should show that.

Well as other devs have shown, it's pretty easy to port PSP games to the Wii. (ducks)

But all kidding aside, the development team will be able to (and sadly probably will) reuse all the art/sound/etc assets from the previous games. Hopefully that leaves them free to focus their efforts on making the best playing version of the game to date.
