Other than the first week in which the consales saw a small bump, (with the help of $100 gift certificates that effectually makes the game for free and reimbursing an extra $40) It didnt really do much. What happened? Isnt this a flagship game?

One game doesn't sell a console. It is a niche title. Fanboys overexaggerates system sellers etc.

Its a game that appeals to hardcore ps3 gamers who already own a ps3.

I've been saying that about MGS4 (and any game that's considered a system seller) since 2006...

There are rare exceptions, but MGS4 aint one of them.

I believe it moved consoles in all three regions, even if it was small. At least sales are above 9k in Japan.

I don't think any game this generation has been a huge system mover (even a juggernaut like Halo 3). People were way too optimistic about the effect MGS4 would have on PS3 sales.

Imagine if it was 80GB PS3 + MGS4 and Dualshock 3 for $299, serious numbers

Yup. Big Corps will go out of their way to lose more money to make people happy.

 Why would you put it at $299 when it keeps selling out.  It Sony wants big number keep restocking the 80gb in the US and release the 80GB in Europe. That would be some serious numbers.
