Forums - Gaming Discussion - IMO everyone needs a Wii and a PS3 or a Wii and a Xbox 360

Yea but Wii is fun and entertaining with friends over. I mean it's a great party console. I mean I love to play games with friends, and things like Wii Sports are huge hits with most. I mean I understand what your saying that you don't need them, but hey it's not a bad quality either. And you should by for yourself, I mean it's your money. But there's nothing wrong with entertaining friends either.

It seems like the perfect mixture, you have the Wii which is fun and entertaining to have when you have guest or a group of people over your house to play, and then when you want to play alone and get right into a hardcore game it's either a PS3 or Xbox 360.

It's like you need both Wii and PS3 or Wii and Xbox 360

Anyone else think the same?

Agree sort of.  I could see myself with only a PS3, but I cannot see myself just owning a Wii.  I need the more mature roster of games and something to take full advantage of my 60" HDTV.  However, the Wii very nicely compliments it.  I have said before that I'm looking for very different experiences when choosing games for each.  They go very nicely together.

Keep this in mind when reading what I type...

I've been gaming longer than many of you have been alive.

or everyone needs a wii and a good gaming pc

tag:"reviews only matter for the real hardcore gamer"

lol....not with me dude
wii is not a must have console for me
(and yes i played wii on several occasions)

Little big planet..

dragonball Z..

Naruto..

lots of casual/core friendly games that have local multiplayer+ online.

I seriously have to question your usage of the casual friendly multiplayer games. Rock Band and Guitar Hero should be the first things on the list, but you give FPS, and fighting games. Moot point in the end though since I agree with what you are trying to say.

Yeah, without a doubt the Wii is the defining gaming console of this generation, and everyone should own one just to see what the big fuss is all about. I mean, HD gamers obviously have extra money, and it only costs 250 bucks.

Pretending there is absolutely nothing on the Wii that interests you, nor shall there ever be, is a talking point.

The only people who won't own one in the end are bitter fanboys who hate Nintendo, the company, because of console sales in general.

These people have convinced themselves that the reason they hate Nintendo is "the direction its taking gaming" or the less PC itteration, "It's for kids and n00bs."

However, the real reason is much more basic. Anger, resentment, and biased, all bread from coveting what they Wii has, what they have to see everyday, popularity and monumental PS2 style sales.

FYI, the Wii didn't steal anything from Sony, except top userbase.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

IMO i need exactly what i have, Wii and PC

Not interested. When I have a bunch of people over, we'd be too drunk to play any games. And frankly, I wouldn't let any of them touch my gaming system in the first place.

I don't buy a gaming console to please other people, I buy them for my own enjoyment

I take it you haven't played Wii Sports with mates while drunk? Its basically what my Wii is used for now, great fun.

Anyway personally I think everybody just needs to just buy a DS, doesn't matter what else you have because the DS is the gaming device of this generation.

Wii covers all gaming needs.

Wii + PC is the best option IMO.

And to add something I've never seen in the arguments caused by people not knowing PC prices is.. You already have a PC, else you wouldn't be posting here! Why calculate the price of a brand new gaming rig since you already have a base.
