Forums - Sony Discussion - What makes you glad you chose PS3 over 360 the most?

I chose ps3 for non of those reasons ,,,my reasons:

1.I was very disappointed with my original xbox and really wanted to try some of PS2 games(god of war). Also killing Xbox that soon Killed MS in my eyes since I bought my Xbox in the beginning of 05.

2.I could play Most of the 360's AAA games on my PC.

3.RROD

4.Uncharted and heavenly sword ads all over TV in such a short period.

Pretty much the only reason I don't have one is there aren't many games that I can't get elsewhere.  I was really close about a week ago to buying one.  But I went through the games I would want to get and it was just Kameo, Dead Rising, Ace Combat 6, Crackdown, and Lost Odyssey.  I'll probably buy one towards the end of the generation.  But I don't really see any reason to buy one now.

Also I wouldn't pay for live out of principle, so that would take a lot of value out of some of the games.

LeetGeek, you're extremely rude you do realise. I've read your ramblings and unsubstatiated preaching of PS3 greatness the last few days and its becoming increasingly annoying.

In all honesty, what kind of loser would purchase anything for the reasons of the competitors negative aspects?

Answer....Nobody!

You've just created yet another thread to stroke your insecurity and stuff your PS3 rhetoric down everyones throat in my opinion, and I'm just going on what you've said, nothing else.

I do hope the mods see fit to ban you for a time and that maybe you can start to act like a civilized person.

The PS3 is not made by Microsoft.

Being able to store HD videos on the hard drive instead of having to stream them from the PC everytime.

High School Musical 2 HD FTW!!!!

1. Sub for online gaming...You get what you pay for, do you object to paying for your internet use? For water? Food? Gas? Electric?

I suspect a lot of users don't because they live with their parents and have no concept of paying bills etc. I spend more on food for just myself a week than a 1 year sub costs to Xbox Live.

I think the real issue with paying for Xbox Live is that ones parents are more than willing to pay for low life freeloaders under 20s basics, but not for luxeries like online gaming...;)

2. HD DVD has nothing to do with the Xbox 360, its an optional extra. HD DVD is actually a superior format technically to Bluray, but thats another argument really.

3. I have had RROD and its not the best, but Microsoft fix your Xbox 360 within a week from the date they arrange for it to be picked up to the time it comes back to you - for FREE...So its not really a big deal...

Again, I would bring point 1 into this, the reason RROD is such an issue is because there are so many little brats who own these consoles and can't wait 1 week if something goes wrong for a free replacment.

I bought my Xbox 360 for the games, afterall it is a "games console" primarily. On that front it has more than satisfied me.

(Did you notice how my purchase was made because of a positive in the item I wanted, and not some twisted insecurity).

If PS3 ups the anti and releases all the decent games and they live up to the hype then I'll get one, can't see the point though the way things are.

No offense like.

Trouble is the hard drive is too small to store any number of HD films\vids on either the PS3 or the 360. I just bought a 1TB drive and an external enclosure for my 360 that cost a total of £100, you could do the same for £50 for a 500GB setup...

Got all me favourite TV episodes\HD content on there ready to watch with thumbnails and what not in a nice folder structure.

Because I can cook food while playing games with the PS3.

To be honest I still have yet to choose between a PS3 and a 360. =\

Here's my list:

1. Quality of Hardware
I was a victim of RRoD and it's good to know that PS3 doesn't have any problems like that. Also the fact that Blu-Ray, wifi and hard drive are built in as standard is great because I use them all the time.

2. Exclusives
Don't get me wrong, I loved a lot of the 360's games (and I would say it still has the best game library) but I prefer the works of Insomniac and Naughty Dog compared to pretty much any game out there today.

3. PSN
Yes I know and agree that PSN is still not as good as Live, BUT, as someone who doesn't play online all that much it is good to know that I'm not having to fork out even MORE money on a service I won't use that much, and with a lot of upcoming and current (both first and 3rd party) PSN titles I'm quite satisfied with the way PSN is going.

Well put.
