My mother died suddenly last year at the age of 46.

She had a rare heart condition that couldn't have been detected without a specialist check, a check noone has. She was the healthiest person in the family, always going to the gym. I was away with friends when she was rushed to hospital.

I was due back the day I got a call from dad saying mum was very sick and I had to hurry home and to the hospital. On the way back on the train dad called again. He said things weren't looking too good, but I knew from his voice my mother was already dead.

I arrived half an hour too late to say goodbye to my mum. I loved her more than anyone else in the world. I had barely spoken to her in a week. She died in the hospital she worked at as a nurse, all her friends on duty were outside the theatre when the news came through.

I arrived and saw my dad and little brother's faces and will never, be more heartbroken in my life.

I feel your pain! ;-;

Cat died of liver and kidney failure last week. At the end she stopped eating for a couple days, lost a bunch of weight, and started hiding behind the toilet waiting to die. We took her to the vet and had her shot up with fluids, vitamins, antibiotics, and steroids. She gained some weight and started eating again. For a few days. Then she lost all the weight again super fast and could barely walk and just stumbled around bumping into things and crying. We took her to the vet again, took home the IV so we could inject her with fluids every day ourselves. But she died about an hour later.

Actually kinda recently a year ago around January just returned to college for the new semester. I get a call that my grandmother(90 yrs old) collapsed and she was in the hospital. Of course my initial reaction is to go visit her but my parents refused cause it was a 7ish hour drive and that she will be fine. After a week her condition started getting better talked to her during my lunch break and at night. Then I finally got time to take a bus and go visit her. When I got there was happy cause the doctors said she should be fine got to talk to her and on Sunday left with my parents to go back to my hometown before that night I would go back to college. When we got back to my hometown we got the call that my grandmother had died. I was pretty devastated was not expecting this to ever happen. My whole life my grandmother lived a street over from my parents and I would go over almost everyday till she moved to live with my other relatives after my grandfather had died (that was pretty devastating as well he died when i was 12 on Christmas Eve) and would stay with us every summer. : (
