Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 64% of ppl give up on Wii Fit

It's the same with all exercise machines. People think they want to get fit and just forget about it after a couple of weeks, go back to the TV and the pies.

Have you been watching me? o.O

Here's another question:

How many Wii Fits are out there getting used 3-7 days a week by 1-8 people?

I bought a Wii Fit. I use it 5-7 days a week. One roommate uses it 5-7 days a week. Another uses it once a week and another uses it once a month.

Also, most people are bums who give up on any exercise routine ever, so this is actually a pretty good number for Wii Fit. I see more unused treadmills and bikes and rowing machines than unused balance boards.

u fools, who cares if they aren't using it... bottom line is, PEOPLE STILL BOUGHT THER FUCKING THINGS... so ninty get their dollar, u really think they care if ppl still use it now... as long as they have the $$$ it's all good for them.

Why not add me on msn... ish_187@hotmail.co.uk

I know, more people play Wii Fit on a daily basis than have bought the best selling PS3 game in Japan ... Awful news

wii fit and wii sports are both crap games.

i wont even bother trying wii fit, i have wii sports but never ever use it, its just rubbish.

wii play is also crap, its a collection of games that should be free they are just little demos given away with a controller.

i will only ever buy proper ninty games like mario/nights/brawl and the like, all wii party/carnival/pub type games are a waste of money that sell bucket loads, for which nintendo are happy about. its all about the quids in quids out.

there was a dire comercial on bravo channel showing wii beach party WTF it looked awful, will surely sell a million though.

so im not suprised on ppl giving up on wii fit.

The Zapper works fine, unless you cheat.  This is from Wikipedia:

When the trigger was pulled, the game blanked out the screen with a black background for one frame, then, for one additional frame, drew a solid white rectangle around the sprite the user was supposed to be shooting at. The photodiode at the back of the Zapper would detect these changes in intensity and send a signal to the NES to indicate whether it was over a lit pixel or not. A drop followed by a spike in intensity signalled a hit. Multiple sprites were supported by flashing a solid white rectangle around each potential sprite, one per frame.

It is possible to cheat in games by changing the brightness and contrast of the television, or pointing the gun at a bright light. The gun thinks it is pointing at a solid white target and will report a hit. If there are multiple targets, the "hit" target will be the first to be lit with the white square. This is not as consistent with a fluorescent lamp due to the possible differences in timing of the lamp's flicker versus the timing of the television's refresh rate.

Additionally, by using a magnifying glass on the gun, it fools the receptor into thinking that the rectangle is much larger than it actually is, allowing for a shotgun-like effect that will cover the entire screen. The same effect can be achieved by smearing grease on the lens.

In other news, 15% of VGChartz users sieze on a meaningless statistic to damn the Wii and everything tangentally related to it--5% of them while eating a Twinkee.
