Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Fable 2. I had no idea it was that involved.

This already is my game of the year. The number one sacrifice seems to be the character models. Whilst the environments are the best on consoles so far, the character models haven't advanced a whole lot.

 Oh god..

No Fable 2 doesnt even come close.

^^^I'm not sure there is any sort of sequence in story here, but I could be wrong.

IT is set in Albion, 500 years after the first game.

People expected too much of Fable that's why they think it sucks. I didn't put any attention to the game until recently. I never heard of it so when I played it I found it quite fun!

Fable 2 is a must buy for me and my bf.. Looks well done and very fun... Also, we'll be playing together! ^^

You have a 360?

I had no idea

^^With what?? Black and White was fucking awesome and Fable was pretty good. Was it Dungeon Keeper, Populous, The Movies, Theme Park? I really enjoyed Populous and Dungeon Keeper but I only played the demo to the Movies(it was decent) and I never played Theme Park.

He does this every time. Talks a big game, and then when his game is released, it is far less then he said it would be.

I liked Fable, but it was nothing compared to what he said it will be. I expect the same from Fable 2. A good game, but one that will fall way short of his claims.

Molyneux hasn't claimed a SINGLE thing with Fable 2 that he hasn't already demonstrated in-game.

The difference with this game versus the first is that this time the media is driving the hype.

I've been trying not to think about this game too much because then I get all antsy for it. I can't wait to try out the co-op!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Uhmm... Aside from killing the bride to inhert the money stuff, you could do everything else in Fable that he said. Looking forward to the next one.

Alright, Fable 2, my opinion:

Fable was supremely hyped games for the Xbox. I preordered it months in advance, and itwas known as the first real non-computer based RPG on the system notoriously devoid of good RPGs.

I mean, it was Halo 3 hyped.

When the game was released, I loved it, but it wasn't groundbreaking at all. I even conned the gamespot guy out of the Fable stand where the face changes depending on where you stand. All 5 feet of it, lol.

Anyway, despite the false advertisement of open-endedness and endless gameplay,(the game was actually very linear and short, and goodvsevil really didn't matter at all), the end result was actually a very fun game with some very polished 3rd person RPG type gameplay, several engaging minigames, excellent graphics, a few cool Zeldaish/innovative minigames like archery, and an interesting, if forgettable story.

However, since fanboys like myself were expecting god on wheels, we were very pissed off when we found out the game have just a little over 10 hours of gameplay with no reason to play though it a second time.

So, this good, nearly AAA ARPG ended up going down as one of the biggest dissapointments in history.

Despite huge mistakes by the developer and marketing department, with their spouting mouths, the game still managed to be a great RPG in a time when the Xbox needed one.

I think this game can do the same. However, beware getting overhyped. Just assume it'll be a pretty good RPG, and a sequel very much like the original game, and you probably won't come away dissapointed.

However, during Internet 2.0, we make our decisions about a game from the first review, assuming that review is bad, so you could just stop they hype train alltogether, because it just makes the fanboys feel better when they know you cared.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
