It is a game that simply doesn't work. The controls, and AI  and the typical gameplay experiences are completely average in execution which mars the flashes of brilliance in the gameplay when they do come. Whatever good points in the gameplay brings out are overwhelmed by the disjointed, unbelieveable story delivered in massive chunks of prose full of pretension and completely shattering any suspension of disbelief. The story is a weight that just drags the game down rather than adding to it, it turns it into a bad anime that just gets more and more painful to watch as time goes on.

Metal gear solid the game - 60%, an above average/good game that is quite satisfactory to play.

Metal gear solid the movie - (negative 20%), it is more painful than watching 24 hours of the weather channel.

Metal gear sold the package - 40%, the story is so in your face and takes up such a large chunk of time in this game that it just ruins everything. To enjoy the game I suggest people who aren't into Anime/Metal gear solid already skip the cutscenes in favour of enjoying the actual game.

I am disapointed. It started well, but it just went downhill from there.

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I myself haven't played the game so I'll refrain from commenting on it, but I'm guessing you'll get lots of flame...

I wouldn't be that harsh on it

Probably a 6.5/10 on a scale where 5 is average

Ok since your score is 40%, ill give it a 160%, that way they ballance out to be 100%! Then again your a huge 360 fanboy so your opinion on PS3's premeir game right now shouldn't really matter anyways :p I mean, you saying the game is good would be like you supporting PS3, and we all know that'll never happen

Its just not a very well made game *In my opinion*

There are games with far better stories and gameplay and execution out there that deserve to have much more credit than this game.
