Forums - Sales Discussion - For Those that do & do not have a PS3... A Quick Question

I would need the PS3 to drop to $400.  The same price it is being sold in Japan right now.

Woah really??? I didn't know it was so cheap there....

As for the original question, I don't own a PS3. We just bought a HD-DVD player for like $280 or something, so that should hold us out for a couple years while Blu-ray and HD-DVD duke it out. Then if Blu-ray wins in the US, maybe in spring 2009 I'll get one (if its less than $400). I'm really just not enticed with the current game selection.

I can't afford to spend $500 on any console...$400 feels a lot easier...but it'd have to have some AMAZING games...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Nothing on it I want to play.

Though they may be good, most of the Wii games are still rentals only for me simply because I don't plan on buying any game that doesn't have some SERIOUS multiplayer replay value anymore.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

 you dont like shooters ?

Resistance is really great online, pretty surprising since Insomniacs kinda lacked online cred before this game.

You say that like you think everyone should like shooters, especially people who like multiplayer games.

I love shooters, just not with an analogue stick because it's a horribly cumbersome way to aim.

That's why I plan to play Team Fortress 2 on a PC with a mouse and keyboard as god intended.

The Wiimote is great for aiming in FPSes, but there's yet to be a Wii FPS which brings the experience to the necessary level.

I own one ,I wouldnt fell cheate if it was suddenly cut in its price .With the technology this happens always ,you buy a PC graphics card and the next month another appears and yours is half the price ,etc etc .

I think Sony owes to the fans the success of the console more than simply avoiding the feeling that they have spent 100-200 plus simply for having it 7-8 months before .

The PS3 (or X360 premium) would have to drop down to $250 (i'd consider used for $200) before I'd even consider it. I'd rather drop the money into my bike

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
