That's a pretty negative view. Shouldn't a gaming forum be more about gaming rather having half the forum posts dedicated to trolling? This is a sales website, so I would enjoy more objective analysis of the sales instead of the usual "PS3 DOMINATIONZZZ" and "This 360 game will suck". Honestly, I've read less and less through out the last year because the tone turned more and more negative, toward all consoles, but recently heavily against the 360. It's an issue that should be looked at by the higher ups because frankly, it goes against the legitimacy of the site.

Edit: When I look at the polls and I see ridiculous results, it really goes to show how skewed the site. The recent poll asking which game will sell the most this year, has MGS4 leading EVERY game. GTA4 on PS3/360, Wii Fit, SSBB, Mario Kart. Come on, realistically MGS4 isn't very likely to outsell ANY of those games by the end of year.

360 fanboys crying because they believe they are being picked on. What a hoot.

You guys just notice it more because you are paying more attention to 360 news than anything else.

You weren't around.  When I say most, I mean it.  And the ones that left were crybabies, that's all there is to it.  I didn't say anything about the ones who are left -- in fact most of the time the 360 fans that are left here are the most reasonable of the bunch, since we weeded out all the bad ones early on with that incident.  Why don't you try pulling the stick out of your butt?

I hear you man.  When I first found this site, I thought maybe it would be a great place to discuss news, games, and of course, sales figures, but every thread pretty much devolves into fanboy wars.  Occasionally I even find myself throwing a little heat out - some of these trolls are pretty good at evoking responses, and make thread after thread without repercussion.

I guess I fit in the "360 fans" camp of this site, although I loved my ps2 more than my xbox, and when the ps3 comes down in price and has some games I want to play, I plan to buy it...

So I guess... 360 owners and multi-platform owners on this site are probably labeled 360 fanboys by the ps3-only and wii-only crowd.

I don't think that's the issue people are complaining about. More like the forums are slowly devolving into fanboy infested troll fests. And what if the PS3 or Wii suddenly starts doing marginally worse than the 360, and suddenly there's a resurgence of idiotic 360 fanboys trolling again? Things are just gonna get worse.

Sorry, some of your other mods wedged the stick pretty tight up my ass :P  I've been trying to get it out for a while, but they lodged it there pretty good.

Besides, I'm one of the more reasonable posters on this site I think :p  I only actually dislike the Wii, but I certainly respect its horrific crushing of the two systems I prefer.

You may be referring more to trolling than FUD, although I've seen plenty o' FUD in there as well.

And I agree it's getting really old.  I've noticed lately that a thread in the MS forums can be started talking about how a new 360 game is going to come out, and by the third or fourth post someone says something to the effect of "yeah, but it won't be as good as the PS3 game X" or "so, what... the PS3 has better games" or "that game won't be anywhere close to what's possible on the PS3", etc.  That's the trolling, or maybe "poisoning" of the thread.  The FUD comes in when someone posts a criticism of a game and people begin making things up to accomplish a bandwagon effect.  And the rationale appears to be "well, there was plenty of PS3 hate in 2007 so now it's payback time."  I'm starting to wonder if the approach of those who don't like the 360 is just to poison as many 360 threads as possible to give any visitors to the site as negative a view of the 360 as possible.

It's gotten to the point lately where I don't even bother to read through all the posts in a 360 thread as soon as the anti-360 folk show up... often I will just go back to the main page and start reading another 360 thread, then give up, etc.

Lather, rinse, repeat as needed... :-/

MGS4 hasn't always had the highest votes. It use to be GTA 360 then GTA ps3 then a wii game.

People like to fuck with stuff like that.

Another thing people screwed around with that was exactly like that was the game rankings.

I think people like you voted for MGS4 so you could point it out and be like "lol MGS4 highest voted game lol"

Because hardcore gamers fear Wii'll make harcore games die, but that's not true, success of titles like Halo 3, GTA 4, MGS 4 show that there is still a profitable market for good hardcore games, the only thing different is that sloppily realized or not so good titles won't have anymore an easy life.

Perhaps, though, there will be less harcore exclusives on consoles, powerful HW and huge HW base could give again the sceptre to PC, while PS3 and XB360 should wait for conversion and Wii would enjoy its brave new market it discovered, perhaps created.

Hardcore gamers shouldn't fear so much, Wii did an half, not total disruption, because the new market it's tapping is really huge but of the same order of magnitude of the old one.
