perhaps this is just Sony warming up the crowd before the big show at E3, and then they'll announce some big things.

for one, I want Sony to announce that pure software emulation is coming this year, as well a a release date and price for that DVR peripheral they announced a couple months back.

Because they are going to announce downloadable ps2 games on the psn at E3.

Could we be seeing more information about Home and maybe even a date?  Could it be coming sooner than expected?

edit: Also so at E3 they can point out they have almost an identicle service to XBOXLive and thiers is free.



I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

Well said.  Now they can go to E3 and talk about how they had released a FW update already and how it was getting popular and all that and then show new stuff to hype up gamers.

Whereas if they wait to talk about it at E3 it comes off kinda bad that at the big annual industry event they are hyping up features the competitor has had for some time while MS goes ahead and starts introducing new stuff.  If Sony is playing catch up no need to draw attention to it.

Man. I was going to say the same thing. If you just wrote that off the top of your head, you've a promising carreer ahead of you my friend.

OT: WTH would you want to wait two weeks instead of two days for in-game XMB??!!!

YAY 2.4 for the win!!!

anyway the early release is probably to make up for delays to home and entice people to buy PS3

Bug-testing maybe.  It'd be kind of embarassing to show it off at the convention only for it to have errors.

Still not quite as bad as a display with a broken console, but close.

lol thanks, I really did come up with that on the spot, I just thought that what I was saying flowed well and transitioned into other aspects perfectly. Not to mention that it has a sweet ring to it.
