Well I played the game a year after release, so even back then the graphics were bad.

I have no idea what it even is but I'll pick Vagrant Story because:

1)  Final Fantasy Tactics was a piece of crap.  The story was boring and uninspired, and the characters were lifeless.  I'd have more fun watching the weather channel than playing that game again.

2)  Chrono Trigger, by comparison, was awesome.  Remaking a game so amazing with so much hype to live up to can only end badly.

I guess it's just a matter of prefences.I liked FFVII for its mature characters,music and simple but engrossing storyline.The graphics,I don't mind too much.The turn based combat was also some of the best,even better than FFX's imo.I like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 7,but I prefer more of a mature game,dealing with mature themes.Which is also the reason I have little love for Kingdom Hearts games; it's a fun series,but the story doesn't grab me.

CT's story was actually mature in a way.  Ever played Chrono Cross?  That game had a pretty dark and mature story(by JRPG standards anyway)

Sad to hear that not many people played Vagrant Story or even didn't know it =/..

Vagrant Story was one of those miss placed diamonds in the ruff, so to speak. It was a killer of a game that just got over looked by most... never sold all that well compared to others in the genre, quite sad really. And this is why we never saw a sequel.

If you can, track a copy down and play it. If it's mature stories you want, then this is the one!

vagrant story!!!!!! awesome ps1 game just awesome i wish i still had my copy

I learned a long time ago not to sell or trade any of my favorite games. So, for the last 22 years I have been collecting games and now have heaps. Vagrant story will get played agin someday, it's just too good not to.
