Um you do realize that none of those became a sucess except guitar hero. And guitar hero had nothing to do with the ps2 specifically except being released on it. Also montana already showed prove that the market didn't expand significantly, because the ps2 sales weren't that much pass the ps1s, and the market didn't increase that much compared to the previous generation. The wii is expanding the market more with games such as wii fit, and wii sport becoming very successful, and people such as grand parents and parents getting into gaming. The ds also did this.

 

I know this is old, but wow! There are so many things wrong with this statement!

But I think the ps2 should be in a class of its own and shouldnt be reached, it expanded the industry, helped make new franchises, saved companies(because most games sold well and made money). 

This doent mean that the wii wont sell 100 million because it will, but I dont think it deserves to beat the ps2(YET) 

 

Hmm... can't similar things be said about the Wii?

i understand u my friend, da PS2 was a great console. i dont want da Wii 2 beat it either, but it probably will. i personally think that the PS2 was da better console though.

it have a good chance of doing it, if gets a nice third party support (as in the next 2 years not likely by alot).

if it does outsell it, it will never get the market share or the library the ps2 had.

i agree, i have friends who are on their 3-6th ps2 consoles.

 

The worst of them having 2 gamecubes cause he got pissed of at one when his memory card got screwed up and had to restart wind waker.

 

The one thing I will say is. Although I am on my second PS3. I really think the design of the PS3 is much better then that of the PS2, therefore I cannot see PS3 beating the PS2 unless it lasts 15years.

 

Wii i do not think will sell as much as PS2 mainly because they don't break as often. Unless Nintendo cheats and releases a batch of 50million faulty wiis.
