Kojima does tend to rely on subtlety. Which makes Snake's practically being married to Otacon at the start of MGS4 (as I understand it; I don't play and will never play MGS games, they're too pretentious and hard to control to pique my interest) seem like a bit of a drop in said subtlety. Then again, it's still worlds ahead of the subtlety present in "The Man Festival" of Shadow Hearts 2...

They're definitely not married. It never suggests that the two live together and adopted a child. Although that is a hilarious premise.

snake is not gay. in MGS2, look at a magazine or poster and call otacon. you will see snake breathing very hard. no gay man would get turned on by girl pictures.
