Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS3 vs 360: GRAPHICS

If a debate is needed to say who has the better graphics, than they are probobly so close to each other that it doesnt make a difference.

Ill tell you this though, the PS360 has better graphics than the Wii. : )

Edit: I am basically repeating what Zen said.

Alright we have NJ5, and happy squirrel and squillium saying the XBOX 360 is a more powerful machine than the PS3.

Now for all of you technicle users, can you explain to me and does that are "less informed" the full comparison and which console truley is more powerful in graphics?

No one claimed this, so this thread fail...

By me:

Made with Blender + LuxRender
"Since you can´t understand ... there is no point to taking you seriously."

I get the feeling that some sony fans think that the 360 is just a pimped original xbox.

Oh how misguided they are.

Bottom line is that both systems have very similar graphical capabilities.

leo-j, stick this in your head: The PS3 and 360 haven't shown (or guaranteed) anything which is far above each other in terms of graphics.

The two systems have a substantially different architecture, so you will see games doing certain things better on one system than the other. What you probably won't see (according to me and many others) are games which, all things considered, are far above what the other platform can do.

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

I think its on topic to include the PC in this discussion, otherwise PC/Wii owners will feel left out.

I think the Wii definately has an edge over the PC in resolutions like 480i/480p but it quickly loses it as the resolutions climb whilst the PC is the oposite, no game is playable at 480i that looks as good as a Wii game yet when the resolutions increase it shows some incredible legs all the way out to 2560/1600.

Theres some debate about which one is better, fanboys on the internet often cite games such as SMG or Crysis, depending on which side of the fence they are on. I hope Happy Squirel doesn't chew my butt out for this, but I perfer higher resolution gaming and I like the fidelity of Crysis better even though I don't have any evidence to back me up as far as which ones better.

I have yet to see a better looking 360 game than gears of war, and uncharted is already considered the best looking console game.

Also with the recent release of GEARS 2 video, it seems the only graphicle inhancement was more enemies on screen and better lighting than gears of war, which indicates that gears 2 has peaked the 360 interms of performence hence why we see no visual improvement from gears 1 to gears 2.

On the other hand, Uncharted which is techinically more impressive than GEARS 1, is inferior to a couple of games for consoles. These games are " MGS4, and KILLZONE 2". Killzone 2 shows everything that seemed to be impossible on the PS3 hardware and surpasses expectations, those that doubt it are blind to see the truth.

LOL!!!
So leo-j you still believe the hype...

their are a couple of things that are fact:-

1) PC will always have better graphics than both 360/PS3 combined
2) PC/360/PS3 will always have better graphics than the wii
3) PC graphical advantage comes in the form of being able to upgrade to new graphics cards as they are released almost every year

One come thing about the 3 facts above is, that the PC is king when it comes to graphics, but at this stage, most multiplatform games on both 360 and PS3 are on par, unless of course the developer is a shocker and sent zombie monkeys to code the PS3 port.

I have been really Anti-PS3 lately. I think this has to be my confession!

Regarding the new RFOM2 trailor that leo j posted.

Ugh... That looks... like haze, seriously, If they'd done 100% right  its like a bullshot.

Only real

Fantastic game.

I blanked out the more controversial pieces. Read them at your own risk.

The PC should be able to produce better graphics at low resolutions to the Wii, but being that most PC games are designed around resolutions of 1024x728 (as a minimum) at this point in time the games look awful at lower resolutions. In contrast, Wii games are designed around the limitations of lower resolutions, and at higher resolutions the pixelation of textures and polygonalization artifacts become very noticeable and thus would not look particularly good.
