Why is this in the Microsoft channel? Half Life 2 is first and foremost a PC game!

 Microsoft is also PC.

 But Valve isn't Microsoft...

@dtewi: It is actually 4 parts, the original game and 3 episodes.

It should come to PS3 eventually. All Half-Life main series have been released on Sony platforms, maybe EA will again do the port for the PS3 with horrendous loading times...

No. Microsoft gains nothing from PC gaming, and gives nothing for PC gaming.

And your statement diminishes PC/MAC/Linux multiplats.

Will this be the last episode in HL2, dun dun dun. Tune in next week for the exciting conclusion...
Good news though.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

E3 will not exist NEXT year, I think. I really hope the old days of E3 return, with almost all of the publishers there, and it will be epic.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

There's another one?

My god. Did they have to split it into 3+ parts? The first Half-Life was just that! Just one Half-Life!

Of course there's another one. Three chapters were announced. Not to mention the complete cliff hanger ending for Episode Two. It's one of those great AAARGH moments when you realize it's going to be well over a year before being able to see what happens next.

Most people would rather have a section of the game distributed in closer intervals than have to wait five years for a complete game. I know I would.

This method of development and distribution was partly an experiment for Valve (successful) that takes full advantage of a direct to drive online distribution service like Steam.

Orange Box retail package was strictly to serve traditional brick and mortar retailers as well as consumers who prefer hard media (still the vast majority).

I think Newell already went on record as saying Half Life 2: Episode One, Two and Three are in fact Half Life 3. Presumably, that means Episode Three will be the conclusion of Gordan Freeman's story although I could easily see Valve writing the end of Episode Three so that Freeman ends up in suspended animation again, waiting to be revived in a future sequel.

It's unquestionably in decline between the scaling back of operations last year (decentralized facilities and turning it into a press and developer event only) and the announcement of multiple long time developers dropping from the event for 2008, the relevance of E3 is really beginning to come into question.

yeah especially since now a days almost everybody does a gamers day event

Now I'm really excited for E3. I wonder what improvements of the Source engine they're working on.

Awesome, I can't wait!

But I will have to, since this game probably won't come out til 2010, and I'm being serious.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
