Forums - Gaming Discussion - What's your age and system of choice?

I'm 16. Despite owning a Wii, and loving it the most of the three next gen consoles, I have to say that I play my DS the most nowadays. I recently finished playing through Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright happens to be my new favorite game series, so I'm having trouble pulling my hands off of my DS lately. But I do get up every now and then and go play my Wii. Both of them are amazing and wonderful systems, and they're both keeping me strapped for cash because with the combination of the two, there's no end to the amount of great games to buy.

I'm 32, and started gaming at a young age with the Magnavox Odyssey 3000. I've since had an Atari 2600, Atari 7800, NES, Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, Playstation, Dreamcast, Gameboy Advance, PS2, Gamecube, Nintendo DS and now a Wii. I played numerous other consoles at friends' places, and more than enough games at the arcade. My system of choice, like some others apparently, is a toss up between the Wii and the Nintendo DS. The DS has a lot of unusual games that re-sparked my interest in games in general, along with several retro style games that I either enjoyed or just never got around to playing back in the day. The Wii has a lot of retro games, and a unique method of interacting with the console that feels natural during gameplay.

Im 15 and I play gamecube, gameboy colour (not anymore) and DS my choice is the wii, problem is.... I havent got one yet (I wait for super smash bros brawl because thats the mainreason i buy the wii)

Awesome!! I just about remember those

It wasn't really anything special, just a pong console with four built-in variations that didn't exactly play like the sports they were supposed to be. I didn't care though, it was fun to be able to make the dots on the screen move. I was probably either four or five at the time, I don't precisely remember the year. It must have been one of Magnavox's last consoles. Looking back, the 2600 VCS was quite an impressive leap beyond the pong generation. It had cartridges, programmable sprites, backgrounds, and color that didn't require screen overlays - and it could color cycle. It also had joysticks which were detachable through a DB-9 style interface like the Genesis, allowing you to use paddles as well. Two to a controller port. Has anyone here ever played four player Warlords on the 2600? I remember quite a few intense games of that game. (Perhaps more importantly, am I turning into a fossil?)

You are not the only old timer on here. I have never played it with four people, but I spent many hours playing Warlords. I just bought the Retro Atari game for the DS and it has Warlords on it. I have not had a chance to play it yet, but look forward to it.

24. Current console of choice is DS (huge Phoenix Wright fan), although I intend to get a Wii over the next month or two (for Zelda and Mario mainly).

If the price comes down a little more, if it looks like Blu-Ray will really take off and there's a few games I want for it I'll probably get a PS3 sometime next year (I know that's a lot of 'if's')
