@Leo-J you do know that rol is always using sarcasm right?

@Garcian

Like I said its possible, the wii may currently have better exclusives at the time, but the PS3 does have better games though not all of them are exclusive, but shared with the XBOX360.

There are Tons of 1st and 2nd party games that are likely being worked on for the ps3, when it comes to 1st party sony has the most games to offer, there are still tons of ip from the ps2 era that havent made the jump to the ps3.

So by 2009(FF XIII, GT5, Heavy rain, and more to be announced) ps3 will have very BIG system sellers, but again this is all assumptions.

Sony has more to offer in terms of 1st party games than Nintendo, of all companies? I... don't think so.

Also, while FFXIII and GT5 may move systems when they're respectively released, I think the fact that the PS3 on MGS4's launch week only barely beat the Wii, when the Wii had no big releases and is still supply constrained, should be an indicator that hardcore system-sellers will not push the PS3 above the Wii, period.

Finally, you're listing Heavy Rain as a system-seller? An adventure game by a company that's only made two ambitious-but-flawed adventure games in the past? Again, I don't think so.

Re the prediction: Anyone around December 2007 could have calculated that the Wii is guaranteed to sell at least 40 million by the end of 2008.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Isn't this the same magazine that said GTAIV threatened the Wii?

"The media have hailed 2008 as the year of the PS3, and with solid sales and growth opportunities ahead, we feel consumers are saying the same.”

- Jack Tretton, president and CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment America

However there is 2 errors in that article:
1) PS3 has shipped above 12 million WW before April 2008
2) Not all the manufacturers use it ( Hint: Nintendo).

I´ve read the article and they still have the PS3 at 9 million >_>

Misinformed they are..,and I don´t take misinformed articles seriously.

You, more than anyone, should know that very wel.

Look at your predictions about consoles at your sign.

Look at the date

Yeah, I looked and I remenber your crazy predictions.

Now, read again what you posted about making predictions.

The date you made predctions doesn't lessen the how wrong they are.

Well, the PS3, just like PSP, has always been about POTENTIAL. Promise for future potential. We've finally got our first potential in our hands: MGS4. It's a great immersion, but I think it was too blahblah than gameplay. Let's hope that the other two potential (FF and GT5) will offer a next generation innovation.

I anticipate that in 2009 they will say 2010.

First it was 2007: http://www.romow.com/games-blog/playstation-3-the-best-features/

Then 2008:http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/playstation/playstation-3-to-dominate-xbox-360-in-2008-219180

Now 2009:...

Sorry, I find this kind of comical. No matter what the PS3 does do, it has already lost. The Wii will continue to dominate this generation. Xbox 360 will continue to take market share away from the potential PS3 adopters.

More so, the reason I find this funny is simply that as every year goes by, more and more promises are made that are not kept. Killzone 2? Home? Weren't these two driving factors of PS3 2008 domination? IMO Sony has a problem, and that is they publically state things that they do not deliver on.

I expect they will do some great things in 2009 like they have in 2008, but to say they will dominate or that a year will be the PS3 is comical.  Look at there track record and ask yourself, are you serious?

Woah here lets read the article. The article never states 2009 WILL be PS3 domination. Its going over how 2008 did not end up being PS3 domination. The only line that seems like it says next year is the last one:

"There's always 2009"

Now as a KC Royals fan I know about going "Well, there's always next year" in the middle of a season. This line does not point to the domination next year but a throwing in the towel for the year. That does not mean there is a chance, its just something to feel better (and in this case he is saying it like Sony would, hoping its 2009)

Now Playing: The Witcher (PC)

Consoles Owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Boy, DS

"360 will take market share away from the potential ps3 adopters" wtf?!?!?!?!?!?! 360's losin market share every week while wii and ps3 gain O.o and that's sad considerin ps3 had no exclusive killer aps til now....if ps3 survived this far without exclusives it will kill with them now
